About the Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced field operations leader to join our client's team as a Heavy Highway Superintendent. This individual will play a critical role in executing a growing backlog of heavy highway and infrastructure projects across North-Central Kentucky.

The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing daily field operations, coordinating crews and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules and specifications. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong field presence and the ability to manage complex earthmoving and roadway construction activities.

Project scope includes highway widening and infrastructure work such as excavation, embankment, storm drainage, waterline installation, crushed stone placement, and blasting.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma required or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of field leadership experience in road construction and/or large earthmoving projects

Industry & Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of heavy highway construction methods, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications
  • Experience with DOT projects and compliance standards preferred

Leadership & Skills

  • Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate subcontractors effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to project success

Safety

  • OSHA training and strong knowledge of jobsite safety standards and regulations
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel
