Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR YOUTH/ ENGLISH PASTOR

GENERAL INFORMATION

Rockland Chinese Alliance Church of C&MA (RCAC) is a Chinese and English speaking church with two congregations and a combined total of about 100 attendees. We are seeking a full time youth/ English pastor who is responsible for leading both our youth and English speaking adult ministries. The youth/ English pastor works closely with the youth/ English ministry committee and reports to the senior pastor.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSTION

Disciple youth and English-speaking adults by cultivating and implementing a holistic approach to Youth Ministry and English Ministry in the areas of discipleship, living out the Gospel, mission, and outreach while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.

POSTION RELATIONSHIP

  1. Report to the Senior Pastor.
  2. Meet with the Youth/ English Ministry Committee on a monthly basis.
  3. Work cooperatively with other Church Staff.
  4. Assisted by the church members, parents, and Youth/English Ministry Committee in the implementation of all youth and English programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Follow the Great Commission to spread the Gospel.
  2. Develop and implement discipleship and leadership training strategies for youth and English-speaking adults.
  3. Shepherd the flocks with family role model.
  4. Preach God’s word faithfully and teach the congregants to apply the biblical principles in their real life.
  5. Provide pastoral care to congregants through regular visitation and fellowship, and pastoral counselling.
  6. Organize monthly Youth/English Ministry Committee meeting.
  7. Maintain proper office hours together with the pastoral team.
  8. Lead to plan the Youth/English Ministry budget.
  9. Lead the English congregation to participate in the Angel’s Heart Ministry activities and other RCAC church wide events.
  10. Lead youth and young adults to support the Vocational Bible School (VBS), together with the Children Ministry Committee.
  11. Lead the youth and English part of the church summer retreat.
  12. Organize community services such as Make Rockland Beautiful, etc.
  13. Organize fundraising for English congregation mission trips.
  14. Share various other pastoral responsibilities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES IN YOUTH MINISTRY

  1. Develop curriculum, teach and lead the Youth Bible Study program on Friday nights.
  2. Implement Sunday School classes by teaching curriculum and training youth counselors.
  3. Organize Sunday worship service and train the youth worship team to lead worship in the combined worship services and special meetings.
  4. Organize youth to participate in spiritual gatherings such as Alliance Youth retreat (Lake Champion), Next Ministry conferences, Life Conference, etc.

SPECIFIC DUTIES IN ENGLISH MINISTRY

  1. Establish English family Sunday worship service.
  2. Organize and lead weekly prayer meeting of the English congregation.
  3. Establish weekly adult English Bible study group.
  4. Nurture and care for RCAC college students and young adults.
