Northwest Permanente (NWP), the largest multispecialty medical group in Oregon and southwest Washington, partners with Kaiser Permanente to care for more than 615,000 members. NWP is physician-led and offers competitive compensation that is not tied to individual service volume.

We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible cardiologist with fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. They will join a collegial team of 25 cardiologists in a practice that blends advanced heart failure care (mechanical circulatory support, transplant, cardiogenic shock) with general cardiology.

What You Can Expect:
  • An Advanced Heart Failure team including 4 Advanced Heart Failure board-certified cardiologists, 1 transplant coordinator, 2 LVAD coordinators, and a social worker
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration with cardiothoracic surgery, structural/interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and pulmonary/critical care
  • Temporary mechanical circulatory support (no ECMO at this time) and destination therapy LVAD implanting center
  • Established and growing LVAD program (Sunnyside Medical Center is one of two LVAD programs within the Kaiser Permanente system)
  • Transplant patient care internalized within approximately 8–10 weeks based on complexity, with collaboration through Kaiser Permanente National Transplant Services and external Centers of Excellence
  • Cath lab procedures including right heart catheterization with vasoreactivity testing and endomyocardial biopsies; opportunity to perform transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) if interested
  • Advanced Heart Failure call/inpatient service one week per month, with a mix of heart failure and general cardiology; night call is Advanced Heart Failure only
