Description & Requirements

The Facility and Capital Planning Solution within Healthcare Strategy & Finance team empowers healthcare leaders to deliver quality care, invest in growth, and address capital challenges while meeting the unique needs of their communities. In a rapidly evolving landscape, the team brings deep expertise across the care continuum to guide strategic system facility and capital initiatives. What You Will Do:

  • Guide the strategic vision of healthcare organizations by leading high-impact health system, service, and/or facility planning initiatives that enhance growth, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
  • Conduct and supervise comprehensive health system facility planning projects, including regional service distribution, facility master planning, detailed facility programming, operational planning, space planning, and capital planning.
  • Support strategy-related health system and facility planning solutions, including forecasting need driving facility demand
  • Research, investigate and document healthcare system and facility conditions
  • Oversee analysis of existing facilities via the assessment of square footage and key room quantity information from floor plans and walk-throughs
  • Support modeling healthcare delivery and developing operational alternatives
  • Support development of complete healthcare planning documentation, service delivery plans, facility master planning, space programming, and functional planning
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality deliverables across engagements.
  • Continuously expand subject matter expertise in healthcare trends, regulations, and consulting methodologies to enhance client value and firm capabilities.
  • Foster collaboration across teams and functions, contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, and accountability.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with healthcare leaders, supporting business development efforts and promoting cross-functional service integration.
  • Lead components of client engagements, including project planning, client leadership meetings, data-driven solution development, and clear communication/delivery of results.
  • Lead project delivery, hold internal and external teams accountable to a timeline, proactively identify project risks and develop solutions to address achieving defined engagement objectives and deliver an unmatched client experience.
  • Support proposal development, including opportunity research, scope of work writing, and project fee development.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Healthcare discipline
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the healthcare facility planning industry
  • Experience leading health service and/or facility master planning and programming activities in predesign and/or design phase
  • Experience leading or assisting operations planning
  • Experience translating clinical volumes into capacity requirements
  • Experience in leading space programming
  • Experience managing engagement teams
  • Experience with sub-consultant management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate to Advanced)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MArch, MBA, MHA, MPH, or MPA
  • Experience in healthcare consulting within a professional services firm
  • Familiarity and experience with the Veterans Affairs’ and/or Indian Health Service’s system, service, facility and capital planning process
