Job Overview

We are seeking an Integration Engineer to design, build, and maintain integrations between healthcare SaaS platforms, EHR/EMR systems, APIs, and third-party healthcare tools.

In this role, you will ensure seamless data flow between clinical systems, patient portals, and external healthcare applications used across the United States. You will work closely with backend engineers, implementation teams, and clients to deliver reliable interoperability solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build integrations between healthcare SaaS and EMRs.
  • Map data fields across diverse schemas and terminology types.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability across clinical tools.
API & Data Exchange
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs for healthcare data.
  • Work with HL7, FHIR, and healthcare data standards.
  • Handle real-time webhooks and batch data synchronization.
  • Ensure secure and encrypted token-based data transfer.
System Reliability & Performance
  • Monitor integration pipelines and resolve synchronization failures.
  • Optimize data flow performance, query latency, and throughput.
  • Configure integration queue retries and failover thresholds.
  • Debug complex distributed cross-system issues.
  • Work with implementation, QA, and backend engineering teams.
  • Support client onboarding and customized integration configs.
  • Translate client API specs into technical integration scripts.
  • Maintain clear documentation for client integration workflows.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s in CS, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in API development or system integration roles.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and data formats (JSON/XML).
  • Knowledge of system architecture and distributed systems.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in US healthcare or healthcare SaaS environments.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security.
  • Exposure to HL7/FHIR-based interoperability standards.
  • Experience with event-driven or message-based queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

Deploy FHIR-compliant API endpoints linking clinical databases with external EHR platforms.

OAuth / security Gates

Configure OAuth 2.0 servers and enforce mutual TLS (mTLS) for backend server-to-server exchanges.

Build webhook routing nodes processing real-time scheduler notifications and patient updates.

HL7 Engine Middleware

Develop parsing and routing engines translating HL7 v2 messages into internal JSON schemas.

Implement message-queue failovers and dead letter queues (DLQs) to prevent clinical event drops.

SaaS Portal Integrations

Establish API connections driving portal capabilities, telemedicine feeds, and AI classifications.
