SQL Developer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Measure Developer is responsible for developing healthcare quality measures, financial and risk calculations, and associated reporting tools, as well as providing technical and industry guidance to clinical, operations and support stakeholders throughout the Lightbeam organization and its customers.

A successful Quality Measure Developer has SQL development experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and healthcare industry knowledge. This individual spends much of their day developing, maintaining, and tuning SQL stored procedures, and a smaller portion of their day collaborating with customers, customer support, project managers, and quality assurance. In addition to these responsibilities, the Quality Measure & Reporting Analyst helps with documentation, refinement of specifications, software deployments, and industry certification.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain Healthcare Quality Measure and Reporting software.
  • Analyze and tune performance of stored procedures.
  • Analyze business requirements and specifications to determine an optimal development strategy and timeline.
  • Participate in Industry Certification activities, particularly annual NCQA HEDIS certification.
  • Provide Quality Measures assistance to Customer Support and Project Management.
  • Provide development assistance to DevOps and QA in cases of job failures or errors.
  • Deploy Healthcare Quality Measure Software.
  • Attend Agile meetings (Daily scrum meeting/Sprint planning/Backlog refinement) on assigned project.

QUALIFYING JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

_ Required:_

  • 1-3 years of experience writing T-SQL, Snowflake/SnowSQL, or similar (e.g., Python+Pandas).
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, with experience identifying and resolving issues in large software platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills.

_ Preferred:_

  • Working experience with HL7 and healthcare interfaces
  • Working experience with healthcare claims a plus.
  • Exposure to C# / .NET a plus.
  • Python, Snowflake.
  • Healthcare Industry knowledge

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • A relevant college degree, with 1-3 years of professional experience
  • In lieu of a degree, equivalent professional experience may be considered

Preferred:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related subject.
  • Background in technical support, quality assurance, software testing or application engineering will be considered as an advantage, as well as experience with population health systems.
