Role Summary

An SQL Developer is a database engineer and software developer who uses structured query language to work with data. It implements database-driven solutions and builds applications. The SQL Developer designs relational databases and writes code that interacts with stored data to complete functional requirements. The SQL developer works alongside business analysts, database administrators, and other IT professionals to help companies create and maintain databases to control and use their data. Need to have thorough knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, scripting, completing a restore from back and table joins, and web links.

We are looking for a qualified SQL developer to design stable and reliable databases, according to our client's needs. The successful SQL Developer will set standards for operations, programming and security and will be responsible for developing, testing, improving, and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively. Developers will integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality, as well as assist development team with data management, including data warehousing systems and concepts. Collaboration with administrators and clients is essential to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude. Ultimately, the SQL Developer should be able to ensure the database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and maintaining SQL Server Database architecture as well as ensuring their optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Optimizing SQL Server Database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and statics maintenance.
  • Creating complex parameterized (declare) T-SQL script, as well as using T-SQ: scripts and queries for business intelligence reporting.
  • Writing optimized complex SQL queries for integration with other applications.
  • Performing multipart sub-queries and joining the table indexing and maintenance (clustered and non-clustered).
  • Creating user defined functions, views, and stored procedures.
  • Working with intricate recursive queries, i.e., Common table expressions (CTE), table variables.
  • Developing, configuring, and deploying SSIS packages.
  • Implementing and enforcing database security measures, including access controls, encryption, auditing, updating, merging, deleting, and inserting the databases.
  • Creating and using stored procedures and creating over clauses with or without partitioning.
  • Effective partnership with development teams to design data management and governance protocols, manage the information lifecycle, design infrastructure, and data integration controls.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in data management, including data warehousing systems and concepts, as well as data transformation and integration techniques.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in performing data extractions, data analysis and programming, to include writing advanced SQL Queries or creating programs in a statistical software package such as SAS, R, or Stata for the purpose of data analytics and decision science.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with Oracle RAC, SQL Server or My SQL.
  • Proficiency in writing and deploying SQL patches.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in a field related to mathematical statistics or biostatistics, data science, computer information systems, finance, accounting, public health, informatics, or healthcare administration. Can substitute education requirement for greater experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the DoD Applications STIG's.
  • Relevant experience working with Application Developers and integrating SQL Server and IIS.
  • Security + certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Exceptional communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems with innovative solutions.
  • Security + certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with DoD and experience with Electronic Health Records/Electronic Medical Records (EHR/EMR).
  • .NET Framework and .NET Core experience a plus.
  • Microsoft Certifications.
