Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)
Position Type: Full-time, Direct W2
Salary Range: $120,000–$180,000 Annually

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise database solutions supporting high-volume transactional systems, financial applications, regulatory reporting, and mission-critical business operations. This role focuses on building scalable PL/SQL applications, optimizing complex SQL queries, developing database objects, and ensuring high availability and performance across large Oracle environments. You will work closely with application developers, database administrators, data architects, QA engineers, and business analysts to build efficient database solutions that support enterprise applications, cloud modernization initiatives, and data integration platforms. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Oracle Database technologies, advanced PL/SQL programming, query optimization, and performance tuning while maintaining high standards for data integrity, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects supporting enterprise applications.
  • Develop highly optimized SQL queries for large transactional and analytical databases.
  • Design scalable database schemas, indexing strategies, partitioning models, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Build ETL processes and database integration components for enterprise data movement and synchronization.
  • Develop batch processing jobs and automated database workflows supporting business-critical operations.
  • Analyze execution plans, identify SQL bottlenecks, and optimize database performance for high-volume systems.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient database access patterns and API integrations.
  • Implement database security, auditing, role-based access controls, and data encryption standards.
  • Develop database migration scripts, deployment packages, and release automation processes.
  • Perform database code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve complex data integrity problems.
  • Support database modernization initiatives involving Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, or AWS.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, architecture reviews, and production support rotations.
Required Skills
  • Six or more years of professional experience developing enterprise Oracle database solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL including packages, stored procedures, functions, cursors, triggers, collections, exceptions, and dynamic SQL.
  • Advanced SQL development skills with complex joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), analytical functions, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle Database 12c, 19c, or newer enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle indexing, partitioning, materialized views, execution plans, and optimizer statistics.
  • Experience optimizing high-volume OLTP and OLAP database workloads.
  • Hands‑on experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, SQL*Plus, or similar Oracle development tools.
  • Experience developing ETL processes and integrating Oracle databases with external systems.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, and database migration methodologies.
  • Experience working with Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ), Scheduler, and database jobs.
  • Experience integrating Oracle databases with Java, .NET, Python, or REST‑based enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of database normalization, data modeling, and relational database design principles.
  • Experience using Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines for database deployment automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Services or Autonomous Database.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Exadata, RAC (Real Application Clusters), and Data Guard environments.
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), or Oracle SOA Suite.
  • Knowledge of Oracle APEX application development.
  • Experience developing financial, healthcare, insurance, retail, or government enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud migration strategies from on-premises Oracle databases to OCI, Azure, or AWS.
  • Experience with shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell for database automation.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.
  • Oracle Database Administration or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated environments requiring auditability, compliance, and data governance.
Project Environment

You will be joining an enterprise data engineering and application modernization team responsible for supporting mission-critical Oracle database platforms serving multiple business units. Current initiatives include:

  • Enterprise financial transaction processing systems
  • Healthcare claims and patient management platforms
  • Insurance policy administration and billing systems
  • Large-scale ERP and supply chain applications
  • Cloud migration of Oracle databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

  • High‑availability Oracle environments supporting millions of daily transactions
  • Performance optimization and modernization of legacy PL/SQL applications

This is a hands‑on engineering role where you will contribute to database architecture, PL/SQL development, SQL optimization, cloud migration, production support, and continuous improvement of enterprise Oracle platforms.
