Come Find Your Spark at Quartz! We are looking for an analytical, problem-solver to join our Consulting Analytics team as a Senior Healthcare Informatics Analyst. The Senior Healthcare Informatics Analyst will be responsible for producing financial, claims, medical management, quality, and risk reporting and analysis to leadership. This position will consult with the business areas to design, develop, and implement data queries and data processes to support reporting and analytics.

  • The Senior Healthcare Informatics Analyst will use the following skills on a regular basis:
    • SQL coding
    • Report writing
    • Data Solutioning
    • Knowledge of Data pipelines (Snowflake)

Responsibilities
  • Consults with business units, management, vendors, and provider owners to analyze, develop, and document detailed business requirements and business processes for proposed solutions to business initiatives.
  • Collects, manipulates, and analyzes data from multiple sources, draws accurate inferences, and presents findings to various levels of staff and collaborates on outcomes.
  • Consults with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to revise reports as needed.
  • Drafts and revises report specifications along with policies and procedures to ensure internal controls are correct and up to date.
  • Works with the EDM (Enterprise Data Management) team to ensure data security and guard/limit use of PHI.
  • Tests reports and data structure with other analysts or technical experts, documents any variations and resolves discrepancies.
  • Works closely with project managers, demonstrates subject matter expertise on project teams and acts as a resource during project planning and testing stages of the project.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, informatics, healthcare administration, statistics, mathematics, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience with business intelligence/analytics tools
    • OR associate degree in finance, accounting, informatics, healthcare administration, statistics, mathematics, or related field with 7+ years of relevant experience with business intelligence/analytics tools
    • OR high school equivalency with 10+ years of relevant experience with business intelligence/analytics tools
  • Solid knowledge of business concepts, analytics techniques, and data policies
  • Advanced computer skills in relevant programs as well as the ability to independently solve highly complex problems
  • Apply problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency and demonstrated skill with MS Excel advanced functions
  • Proficiency with SQL coding language
  • Proficiency and demonstrated skill with query tools (Power BI, SQL Developer, SAS)
  • Intermediate knowledge of healthcare claims payment systems. Intermediate knowledge of industry standard reimbursement methodologies (Medicare, Medicaid). Basic knowledge of Healthcare Insurance Marketplace and PPACA rules and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare quality programs and measures (NCQA, HEDIS, Medicare Stars, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced medical insurance knowledge of codes and acronyms. Ability to pass and apply knowledge to the job.
  • Ability to identify proper channels to use for different situations (phone, email, chat, video, etc.)
  • Ability to be inquisitive, creative in developing analytical tools and presentation formats, highly motivated to resolve issues on a timely basis and with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks to ensure timely delivery of reports and other analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
