Title: Insurance Assistance Specialist
Location: Nashville, TN - Hyrbid
Duration: 10 Months 
Description:
The IAP Support Specialist supports the client’s Part B AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), specifically the Insurance Assistance Program (IAP). The primary goal of this role is to help eligible individuals living with HIV maintain continuous access to health insurance coverage and HIV medications.
This position provides support to case managers, healthcare providers, program partners, and vendors by assisting with enrollment, eligibility, renewals, documentation, and insurance-related issues. The specialist researches and resolves complex cases, coordinates with multiple stakeholders, and helps improve program processes and communication.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist case managers with IAP enrollment, eligibility, renewals, and program requirements.
  • Provide guidance on policies, procedures, documentation, and enrollment processes.
  • Research and resolve issues that may impact clients’ access to insurance coverage and medications.
  • Collaborate with case managers, healthcare providers, TDH staff, vendors, and community partners.
  • Handle phone calls and emails while providing professional and solution-focused customer service.
  • Document client interactions, issues, resolutions, and follow-up activities accurately.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with quality assurance, data validation, program monitoring, and workflow improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and applicable program requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, public health, health insurance, or health administration.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, databases, case management systems, or electronic information systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with case managers, healthcare professionals, vendors, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Ryan White Programs, ADAP, HIV care services, health insurance enrollment, benefits coordination, or state/federally funded healthcare programs is preferred.
