Building Location:Essentia Health Superior Belknap PharmacyDepartment:1006870 EH AMBULATORY PHARMACY - EH SSJob Description:The Pharmacist Informaticist will collaborate with clinical, operational, and Informational Systems (IS) teams to effectively support and deliver the highest quality information management, data analytics, clinical informatics, and business intelligence and support of change management for Essentia Health and the EPIC Community Connect partners. This position will provide clinical, analytical, operational, and technical expertise to promote best practices that embrace safe and cost-effective medication use.
Additional locations include Brainerd, MN, Detroit Lakes, MN and Fargo, ND.Education Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as primary pharmacy liaison with community connect sites
  • Support and maintain relationship and care quality for Essentia Health and the EPIC Community Connect program as it relates to pharmacy and medications
  • Collaborates with clinicians, leadership, pharmacy, community connect sites, and vendors to ensure quality patient care and effective system operations
  • Support clinical and operational medication-related electronic health record (EHR) needs across all care sites
  • Maintain a clinical practice on-site at an Essentia Health location
  • Develop, build, test, and implement medication-related clinical decision support tools within the EHR
  • Contribute to guideline development, medication utilization reviews, and other medication processes
  • Assist with quality assurance reviews and IS projects within EHR
  • Collaborates with Pharmacy, Quality, and Clinical Operations team to update clinical policies and processes and apply solutions to the EHR
  • Contribute to the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and formulary through material development and/or implementation of medication-related tools in the EHR
  • Active participation in various clinical and departmental meetings and forums to improve clinical programs, enhance processes, and share clinical information
  • Collaboration and partnership with provider and nursing informaticist teams
  • Stay knowledgeable of current and emerging clinical and operational trends related to medications and EHR
  • Continuously look for ways to streamline and improve workflow
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy

And one of the following:

  • PGY-2 in pharmacy informatics

OR

  • PGY-1 and 3 years of experience in clinical pharmacy with work in informatics

OR

  • 5 years of experience in clinical pharmacy with significant work in informatics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with physicians and other health care professionals within an integrated health system
  • Experience with EHRs
  • EPIC EHR experience or willingness to be trained, data analytics, smart pumps, and automated dispensing systems
Licensure/CertificationQualifications:

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy of the state in which they will be working (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota)
