Job description
Essential Job Function:
- Assists the activities related to development and operations of informatics work as an individual contributor for a specific department or service.
- Facilitates adoption of EMRs and builds relationships with internal and external clinicians to promote technology adoption and clinical practice standards.
- Ensures IT systems are designed to meet the clinical goals of high reliability care and a seamless experience for patients and providers.
- Participates in clinical and operational improvement teams in developing and refining clinical designs, requirements, and workflows. Participates in documentation of designs, requirements, and workflows and translating these requirements into specifications for the IT team. Facilitates stakeholder and governance approval of these designs in the SL or department.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and implements risk-mitigating measures as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all position-related requirements.
- Contributes to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles and/or technical and procedural documentation as needed.
- Serves as a liaison between health system providers, clinicians, and information system leadership.
- Works collaboratively across the organization to ensure quality, facilitate and implement change, and support informatics capabilities development. May collaborate in the development and delivery of educational content and training for internal and external physicians, support staff, and team members
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- Requires a licensed healthcare professional including Registered Nurse, Medical Technologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or equivalent with comparable education, clinical training, and scope of practice.
Preferred:
- Preferred: Degree in Clinical Informatics
Experience:
- 3 years' experience in clinical specialty
- 1 years of experience in a complex healthcare setting in their clinical field
- 1 year of experience in clinical informatics and Epic Clinical Applications
- Aware of and developing in their knowledge and experience of relevant regulatory requirements, such as HITECH, HIPAA Privacy & Security and other CMS regulations and guidelines.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical practice, health care administration; patient safety; information and clinical management.
- Developing in skills required to support the build and management of data systems and the ability to analyze complex data sets to address clinical, operational, and personnel management issues
- Developing in change management, project management skills, including financial and budget management, scheduling and resource management.
- Experience in one or more area of quality improvement and IT methodologies. Agile, LEAN, product, Agil, ITIL
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
Required:
- License and Certification in applicable clinical field.
- Licensure in the state if required by the state board.
Preferred:
- Board certification in Clinical Informatics
- Quality, safety or process improvement certification (examples: Agile, LEAN)
- Epic certifications
