Position Overview

Guiding Light Therapy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our remote telehealth team. This full-time position, based in the beautiful city of Tallahassee, Florida, allows you to provide essential mental health support to clients across the state from the comfort of your home. This role emphasizes the application of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to facilitate significant therapeutic progress and equip clients with tools to manage their mental health.

Work Environment

As a fully remote position, this role offers unparalleled flexibility. Our team works Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, without any on-call responsibilities. Our user-friendly Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system simplifies documentation and treatment planning, allowing you to focus primarily on your clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize our sophisticated EMR system for seamless documentation, tracking client progress, and managing treatment plans effectively.
  • Participate in weekly case consultation sessions to enhance clinical skills and therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Provide supportive resources, including self-guided materials, to empower clients in managing their mental health independently.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice caters to a diverse array of clients, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma recovery. As a mental health counselor, you will have the opportunity to work with varied demographics, addressing distinct cultural and socio-economic factors that influence mental health. Your experience in treating a broad client spectrum will be vital in ensuring a tailored approach that meets each individual’s needs.

Qualifications
  • Possession of an active independent license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related fields. Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of independent practice experience; preference will be given to candidates with two or more years of CBT experience.
  • Demonstrated comfort and efficacy in treating clients from diverse backgrounds using evidence-based interventions.
  • Strong digital literacy and enthusiasm for integrating telehealth technologies into counseling practices.
Preferred Experience

Candidates with specialized training in CBT or similar therapeutic modalities will be highly regarded. Experience working in telehealth settings is also preferred, as it requires unique communication skills and the ability to foster rapport with clients through virtual means.

Compensation and Benefits
