Job description

Training for this position will begin in December 2024/January 2025.This position will begin when the YMCA opens in February 2025.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Toyota Indiana YMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the guidance of the Senior Wellness Director, a group exercise instructor is responsible for working with members in a courteous and motivating manner. This position works independently under the general direction of the Senior Wellness Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
  • Complete required abuse risk management training.
  • Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
  • Ensure check-in procedures are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen, and Blood Borne Pathogen training is required within 60 days of employment.
  • Child Abuse Prevention training is required on/before the first day of work.
  • Certification/membership is required for a licensed program (Les Mills BODYPUMP, Silver Sneakers, Zumba, etc.) that you are hired to teach.
