Position Overview:
Lead and direct Engineering staff in design, deployment and maintenance of Headend, IP, HSD, VOD, VoIP and Digital Video systems

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop plans and procedures for constructing, operating and maintaining Headend, IP, HSD, VOD, VoIP and Digital Video systems.
  • Work in concert with the Corporate Technology group to design and implement the most effective solutions for our customers, based on current and future network topologies of Mediacom Communications.
  • Develop, provide and maintain positive communication with vendors for diagnosing and rectifying problems.
  • Actively participate in capital budget as it relates to engineering new services.
  • Hire and develop engineering team.
  • Facilitate goal setting and development of performance measurement tools used to manage staff.
  • Assure compliance with all FCC and other regulatory entities.
  • Inform Vice President, Engineering, in a clear, concise and timely manner of unresolved technical issues.
  • Develop and participate in technical disaster recovery plans.
  • Contribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience required.
  • 10 +years industry or related industry experience.
  • Strong Leadership Skills - previous management experience required.
  • Excellent Computer skills including; Microsoft Office Products, (Visio Excel Word) Use of CAD system a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • VOD systems knowledge preferred.
  • Understanding of engineering based on ROI and IRR preferred.
  • IP background a plus.
