Job description

MAJOR RESPONSABILITY:

To administer their sport in a manner that is consistent with the policies and procedures of the college, the Florida Community College Activities Association, the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Mid-Florida Conference.

PREREQUISITES FOR POSITION (Qualification Standards):

  1. Education or training:Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  2. Years of Experience in the field:At least two years of experience as a pitcher or pitching coach at high school, college, or competitive level.
  3. Special skills or abilities related to the position:Strong knowledge of softball pitching techniques and training, excellent communication and motivational skills, ability to participate actively in practices and games. Assist the head coach in all areas including recruiting, fund raising, field maintenance, and transportation of students. Have a complete understanding of NJCAA rules and regulation.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Optional Resident Assistant Housing: Single-occupancy housing (fully furnished private bedroom, shared common area) may be available at the College Square Apartments adjacent to the Ocala Campus Softball Field. This option is strictly limited to single occupants. Accepting the housing requires the employee to concurrently serve as a Resident Assistant for student-athletes; those who do not utilize this housing will not be assigned these additional resident duties. Housing is not guaranteed and is subject to availability.

  • Breakfast and lunch at the College's Cafeteria Monday - Thursday when open.
  • Salary: $15,000.00 stipend paid via a semi-monthly pay schedule

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

We're looking for a passionate Assistant Softball Pitching Coach to help our pitchers reach their full potential. You'll work closely with the Head Coach to develop mechanics, strategies, and mental toughness, while fostering a positive, winning team culture.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coach pitchers.
  2. Develop game plans and strategies for opposing hitters
  3. Track performance and provide constructive feedback
  4. Support team practices, games, and overall player development
  5. Collaborate with coaches on recruiting and program growth
  6. Fundraising skills.
  7. Assist with academic support of student athletes
  8. To notify the head coach regarding preparation of the area(s) used for practices and contests
  9. Driving team vans for athletic contests, community service, team activities.
