Job description

JOB TITLE: Assistant Pitching Coordinator, Latin America 
DEPARTMENT: Player Development

JOB SUMMARY: The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a full-time Assistant Pitching Coordinator focused on our Latin American Pitching Prospects for the 2026 Major League Baseball Championship season. This position is primarily based out of Sarasota FL. during the season but will have a travel component involved. This position will assist Pitching Leadership in the acquisition and development of Latin American Pitchers ranging from the Complex in the Dominican Republic to Full Season Minor League Affiliates. This is a contracted position that receives full-time employee benefits.   

REPORTS TO: VP of Player Development & Domestic Scouting, Director of Pitching Development, Minor League Pitching Coordinator Group 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

  • Assist Coaches and Coordinators developing player development plans.
  • Assist Coaches and Coordinators in day-to-day training of healthy pitchers.
  • Assist Coaches in execution of throwing rehabilitation programs.
  • Collaborate with the Pitching Leadership group to design and execute individualized player plans.
  • Utilize organizational coaching tools and analytical tools to help inform decision making.
  • Assist Pitching Coordinator group with Special Projects depending on the candidate's unique skill set.
  • Roving responsibilities are variable in the season and off-season camps.
  • Off-season responsibilities will include on-site development camps and remote training.
  • Will work primarily out of the Ed Smith Complex in Sarasota FL during the season with roving responsibilities to the DR Complex and Full Season Affiliates.
  • Spring Training will be based out of Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota FL.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Fluent Spanish and English-Speaking Skills.
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Appreciation/Experience using data and information from technologies such as Trackman, Rapsodo, and Edgertronic Cameras.
  • Appreciation/Experience for functional movement and biomechanical development.
  • Intrinsically motivated, reliable, growth mindset.

Desired:

  • Former Collegiate or Professional playing experience.
  • Experience as a Pitching Coach.
  • Full time relocation to Sarasota FL desired, not required.
