Your role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Development (m/f/d) to join our growing team – someone who will play a key role in developing innovative solutions. In this position, you will take responsibility for our software development in connection with our Desktop-as-a-Service solution. You can expect a varied role with modern technologies and a motivated team.

How you will support our team
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in software development
  • Leading and actively participating in the development of software solutions within the team, using agile methods
  • Sound knowledge of PHP and Laravel is a particular advantage
  • Guiding, advising and supporting team members in the development of features
  • Proactively identifying and resolving technical challenges to keep projects on track
  • Regularly planning and prioritising tasks within the team to ensure efficient and focused ways of working
  • Mentoring and coaching junior developers, and providing technical guidance to the team on feature implementation and problem-solving
  • Occasionally supporting customer support with problem and error analysis and the maintenance of software solutions
  • Implementing and promoting Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), automated testing and code reviews
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of features and bug fixes in line with defined quality standards
  • Maintaining and further developing existing software solutions
  • Proactively communicating with stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations and manage them effectively
What you bring to the table
  • Strong leadership qualities to motivate and guide the team
  • Experience with Node.js, NestJS and other backend frameworks
  • Hands‑on experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue.js or React including state management
  • In‑depth understanding of modern software architecture and design principles
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration, deployment and DevOps practices
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modelling and storage
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and container orchestration
  • Knowledge of developing scalable and highly available systems
  • Understanding of message queue systems and high‑load architectures
  • Analytical thinking to identify performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies
  • Excellent organisational skills and a structured, self‑directed way of working
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to act as an interface between customers, technical teams and internal stakeholders
  • Fluent German (C1) and strong English (at least B2)
  • European citizenship or an unrestricted work permit for Germany
