About the Role
The Fulfillment Center Learning Area Manager plays a critical role in delivering operational
excellence by leading a multi-site training team - including Learning Leads and Floor Trainers
- and overseeing all aspects of warehouse associate and exempt leader training, from
onboarding to ongoing development. This role is responsible for building training plans for new
hires and cross-training, developing learning materials, coordinating with leadership and the
People team, and maintaining training records to ensure compliance with company policies,
safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
This role requires strong people leadership and the ability to plan and delegate across a team, a
collaborative mindset, process focus, strong communication skills, and a hands-on approach to
ensure consistent training delivery and alignment with evolving business needs - including
knowing when and how to scale the training team for peak.Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop the site training team, including Learning Leads and Floor Trainers
  • Set clear expectations, delegate responsibilities, and hold the team accountable to training quality and delivery standards
  • Anticipate staffing and volume changes and know when to scale the training team up for peak and back down afterward
  • Build team capacity and bench strength so training coverage holds up across shifts and volume swings
Training Delivery & Facilitation
  • Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions to certify and develop Learning Leads and Floor Trainers
  • Lead exempt leadership onboarding and exempt leadership training sessions
  • Facilitate training on new systems, process rollouts, and procedural changes across the site
  • Use creativity to design and deliver enhancement sessions and development opportunities for associates and leads
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and real-time feedback to trainers and trainees
  • Maintain a consistent floor presence to monitor training quality and adherence to best practices
Training Coordination & Documentation
  • Design and own training plans for new hire onboarding and cross-training across all shifts and roles
  • Schedule and coordinate all required training activities, including onboarding, retraining, and procedural updates
  • Prepare and distribute training materials, visual aids, and equipment in advance of sessions
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records using the existing training matrix or approved systems
  • Conduct regular audits to verify training completion, certification renewals, and compliance documentation
  • Track and report on total training hours, completion rates, and key learning outcomes
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations to align training priorities with production goals, labor plans, and daily/weekly demand
  • Work closely with Staffing Agencies to forecast headcount needs, coordinate new hire start dates, and ensure temp labor is trained and ready to work
  • Partner with site leaders, the People Team, and internal trainers to assess training needs and implement aligned strategies
  • Support knowledge transfer to HR Generalists and other internal trainers on best practices, including Workday navigation and interview readiness
  • Collaborate with Network Support on special projects, such as acquisition integrations or decentralized training rollouts
  • Maintain and update the training matrix for all operational staff, ensuring accessibility for floor-level labor planning
  • Communicate regularly with leadership regarding overdue training and opportunities for improvement

Qualifications
Required
  • 4+ years of experience in a warehouse, fulfillment center, or logistics environment
  • Prior experience leading or managing a team, including delegating work and holding people accountable
  • Proven ability to build and execute training plans for both new hire onboarding and cross-training, and to scale training capacity for peak
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse equipment and operations, including WMS systems (e.g., S1W) and handheld scanners
  • Proven ability to train, coach, and guide diverse audiences with professionalism and clarity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., tracking data, using filters, creating basic tables and reports)
  • Familiarity with SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance standards (HazMat a plus)
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation, planning, and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams
  • Capable of prioritizing and adapting in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information
