Job description

About us:
Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We're growing fast and our ambition is huge - more categories, more locations and more people. Dyson launched in the US in 2002, and since then operations have grown exponentially. Our US headquarters is based in Chicago's Fulton Market neighborhood. We also have employees working in field sales, our service centers, and in our growing number of Dyson Demo Stores across the country.
We're committed to our campus culture and want to have people collaborating, developing, and learning from each other. By having everyone on campus together, we have been able to nurture a fantastic social and dynamic environment.
About the Role:
This is an opportunity to lead Dyson's largest direct eCommerce market globally - part-owner of the end-to-end P&L while shaping the future of AI-powered commerce and setting outcomes through excellence in execution. The role combines commercial leadership, digital transformation, platform strategy, organizational design, and influential impact of outcomes at one of the most recognized premium technology brands in the world. This role will be based in our New York SOHO office, 5 days in office.
The Head of US eCommerce owns market strategy, commercial performance outcome, merchandising experience, platform direction, and the AI-driven transformation of how Dyson sells direct.
  • Set the vision for US Direct eCommerce across both existing and new channels, and - jointly with Direct Market and Global Leadership - translate the long-term US strategy and Dyson Direct's priorities short and long term.

  • Be a visible, inspiring leader who brings the direct strategy to life and sustains momentum behind it, motivating Direct eCommerce teams and supporting partner functions, both local and regional, to deliver against shared goals.

  • Galvanize the organization behind strategic plans that fully capitalize on direct opportunities while growing long-term market growth, net profitability and protecting the Dyson brand.

Support the Strategic Outcomes.
  • You own commercial performance, customer experience, roadmap execution, and cross-functional leadership.

  • Develop plans that are consistent across every dimension of the business - commercial, financial, operational, and people - and ensure the organization has the right resourcing to deliver bottoms up annual sales volumes through existing and new channels.

  • Be a role model of ownership and accountability: deliver monthly sales volume outcomes, communicate variances transparently, and when commitments are missed, diagnose root causes and implement course corrections quickly.

  • Protect the integrity of the sales plan and calendar, and ensure site stability and readiness for key commercial moments.

Lead Dyson's AI and agentic commerce agenda.
  • Own Dyson US's AI-driven growth agenda, including personalization, merchandising automation, demand forecasting, and customer experience innovation.

  • Drive conversion rate optimization and continuous consumer-journey improvement, rooted in data, through proactive site merchandising and traffic channel management.

  • Champion AI adoption as a core capability of the organization - identifying, testing, and scaling the tools and models that unlock growth and operational efficiency.

Shape the future platform.
  • Define the US requirements for Dyson's eCommerce re-platform, ensuring the largest direct market's needs are front and center in the design.

  • Influence Dyson's global digital roadmap - as the owner of the largest eCommerce market for Dyson globally, advocate for US priorities, share market findings, and bring inspiration from other sites, markets, and industries back into the global team.

Lead cross-functionally, with high executive visibility.
  • Partner and influence across the business to deliver the direct strategy - working particularly closely with Marketing (Media, Brand, and BU Category), Customer Service, Logistics, Finance, Group Direct eCommerce, and other local and regional functions.

  • Balance disciplined execution of the plan with the agility to respond to real-time market and consumer dynamics.

  • Support marketplace managers in building strong, growth-oriented partnerships.

  • Uphold high standards for our consumer journeys through the right combination of Dyson guidelines, assets, and data-driven local relevance.

Build and transform the organization.
  • Build and evolve the team and capabilities needed to set the direct business up for future success, reviewing resource and capability requirements across direct and cross-functional teams in partnership with Direct Leadership.

  • Accelerate digital transformation and operational excellence - building new capabilities across AI, optimization, analytics, personalization, marketplaces, loyalty, and customer lifetime value.

  • Run continuous A/B testing of business and consumer-experience ideas, and roll out new features with a consumer-first mindset.

  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and role-model a growth mindset.

About You:
  • 10+ years of strong eCommerce and digital marketing experience, with proven delivery of sales results for a premium brand.

  • Full P&L acumen and ownership, with budget management and financial expertise.

  • Experience leading in an eCommerce environment across both branded sites and third-party platforms; DTC marketplace experience a strong plus.

  • Data-driven approach to site merchandising and consumer-journey optimization, with a track record in conversion rate optimization.

  • Fluency in - and enthusiasm for - applying AI, personalization, and automation to drive commercial and CX outcomes.

  • Strong command of the digital media landscape, its mechanics and levers, and of CRM / email / database acquisition strategies.

  • Deep understanding of customer experience and behavior, and of the market dynamics and complexity that shape them.

  • Credible thought leadership across the broader eCommerce infrastructure - logistics, warehousing, supporting IT platforms, and media strategy.

Skills & Competencies
  • Demonstrated strategic and business-planning capability, and success in complex, matrixed, and entrepreneurial environments.

  • An excellent influencer able to inspire, align, and engage multiple teams without direct authority.

  • A strong leader who can develop a vision, draw on multi-disciplinary perspectives, secure buy-in, and drive collaborative execution.

  • Comfortable across the full spectrum from strategy to hands-on delivery, and comfortable with ambiguity while building structure and clarity.

  • Energized by thinking differently, delivering change, and diplomatically challenging the norm.

  • A proactive self-starter with an owner's mindset who sees things through to completion, with uncompromising ethics and integrity.

  • Must be able to adhere to a 5-day office attendance schedule and to travel occasionally.
