Job description

Job Title: Vice President, Head of CRM Technology

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Head of Development

FLSA Code: Exempt

Job Summary:

Cohen and Steers is currently seeking a Head of CRM technology to lead the strategy, architecture, and development of our Salesforce CRM ecosystem. The individual will own the technical roadmap for CRM data, integrations, and applications - both on-premise and in the cloud while guiding a development team and partnering with Sales Enablement, Finance, Relationship Management, Marketing and Sales to design and build enhancements for our strategic CRM platform. Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Own the strategic roadmap and technology vision for CRM, driving alignment between business priorities and technical execution
  • Direct the design, implementation, and delivery of integration solutions across the CRM ecosystem
  • Lead and mentor developers, setting standards for architecture, code quality, and delivery
  • Serve as the primary technical stakeholder and escalation point for CRM initiatives across IT and business units
  • Manage the CRM development team while directly contributing to solution design and build, ensuring hands-on technical credibility alongside leadership
  • Development of service-based solutions to integrate between different platforms, including services hosted in Azure and Microsoft Fabric
  • Development of applications utilizing Azure App Services (PaaS), Azure SQL Database, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Development of enhancements across the Salesforce platform architecture and ensuring a full CI/CD across environments
  • Working with developers and other IT members in identifying and proposing application system changes, enhancements, or troubleshooting issues
  • Responsible for supporting business users, investigating, and resolving application errors, data discrepancies and queries
  • Responsible for clearly articulating technical concepts to lead business stakeholders

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in the Information Technology field is required
  • 10+ years' experience in CRM/data application development, with deep hands-on expertise in C#/Python, .NET Core, and SQL Server
  • Experience partnering with senior business stakeholders to define technology strategy and priorities
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring a development team, with accountability for technical direction and delivery
  • Proven vendor management skills
  • Substantial experience in developing application solutions through all phases of the application lifecycle from initial requirements gathering to ongoing enhancements
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for advanced querying, window functions, CTEs, pivoting, and handling slowly changing dimensions
  • Strong knowledge of ETL tools and patterns
  • Experience designing and reviewing Salesforce integration patterns (REST/SOAP APIs, Bulk API, Platform Events, Change Data Capture) between Salesforce and external systems
  • Strong knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flow/Process Automation, sufficient to guide and review development work even if not hands-on daily
  • Experience with Salesforce data governance, including sharing/security model design, field-level security, and data quality/deduplication strategies
  • Familiarity with Salesforce release management and DevOps practices (sandboxes, change sets, and CI/CD)
  • Strong customer service skills, with excellent written and verbal communication, in order to communicate with all levels of end users and help develop sustainable business solutions that address user requirements
  • Ability to work with users and managers to prioritize between tasks
  • Reasonable knowledge of the portfolio management process (Positions, Transactions) and how it intersects with the standard CRM object model (Account, Contacts, Opportunities).
  • Demonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectives
  • Agrees to comply with the firm's hybrid work policy ("work from home policy," as aligned with the Company's employee handbook), which currently requires reporting to the Company's New York City office four (4) days per week, with one (1) remote workday permitted.
