Head of Content

The Florida Panthers

Sunrise, FL โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 13 days ago

Job description

Organization Overview:
The Florida Panthers enter their 33rd season in 2026-27 as one of the National Hockey League's premier franchises. As back-to-back Stanley Cup champions in 2024 and 2025, the Cats have emerged victorious in 11 of their past 12 postseason series and have captured four Eastern Conference championships. The Panthers are led by President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Bill Zito entering his seventh season, and President of Business Operations Michael White who begins his first full season.
As the NHL's southernmost team, the Panthers operate four facilities in Broward County, Florida: Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise; the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs; the state-of-the-art Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale; and the renovated War Memorial Auditorium, which hosts concerts and events for the South Florida faithful year-round.
An organization with deep roots in the community, the Panthers are owned by Vincent J. Viola, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Emphasizing a culture of selfless service both on and off the ice, the Panthers pillar program, "Heroes Among Us," honors a United States military veteran at every game. The Florida Panthers Foundation focuses on four core pillars: veterans' affairs; children's health and education; raising awareness for the endangered Florida Panther; and growing youth hockey throughout the region. The Panthers remain committed to empowering our fans to live sustainably and to strengthen the resiliency of our diverse communities throughout Florida and the tri-county area.
Head of Content
  • Organization: Florida Panthers Hockey Club
  • Department: Marketing
  • Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Location: Amerant Bank Arena, Sunrise, FL - On-Site
The Opportunity
Two-time Stanley Cup Champions. A sold-out Amerant Bank Arena. A fanbase that has fallen in love with a hockey team in South Florida. The Florida Panthers have built something special - and we're looking for a transformational creative leader to build a content strategy to match.
This is a rare chance to step into one of the most exciting franchises in professional sports and own the entire content ecosystem - from the electricity of a playoff hype reel to the thumb-stopping digital moment that brings a new fan into the fold. The Head of Content will have the creative license, the organizational support, and the platform to build content that reflects the Panthers brand and helps shape where we're going.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Alignment
  • Develop and execute a bold, comprehensive content strategy that reflects the ambition of this organization and puts the Florida Panthers brand at the intersection of sport, culture, and storytelling
  • Partner closely with the Creative Director, VP of Game Presentation, and VP of Digital Marketing to ensure visual consistency, strategic alignment, and cross-functional execution
  • Build a forward-looking content roadmap with fans at the center - one that anticipates where culture is heading and positions this franchise as a leader in premium content
In-Game & Arena Production
  • Own all video production for game presentation: show opens, hype videos, player features, branded content, and special events - setting a new standard for live entertainment every night
  • Conceive and execute seasonal show opens and media day executions that capture the identity of this team and set the tone for what's ahead
  • Create in-arena experiences that energize the team and give fans something they carry with them long after the game ends
Digital Content
  • Lead the creation of original, digital-first content across social, web, and mobile - taking the stories of the Florida Panthers and engaging fans wherever they live online
  • Use data and platform analytics to drive performance, inform creative decisions, and continuously elevate what engagement looks like for this brand
  • Collaborate with Partnerships to produce branded video assets that deliver real, measurable value for partners and fans alike
Leadership & Operations
  • Build, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of producers, editors, and shooters - guiding end-to-end production from concept to delivery
  • Cultivate relationships across the organization - Hockey Operations, PR, broadcast - so that content is always connected to what's happening on and off the ice
  • Manage budgets, staffing, workflows, vendor relationships, and production calendars with the discipline that great creative work demands
  • Oversee equipment, software, and production systems - always investing in the tools that keep the team ahead
  • Stay hands-on: when a big moment calls for it, roll up your sleeves and contribute directly
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in video production and content development
  • High-level video editing expertise with strong proficiency in industry-standard platforms
  • Deep experience conceiving and producing large-scale show opens and premium content
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing creative teams while maintaining your own creative credibility
  • Sharp understanding of digital content trends, fan engagement, and brand audience development
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills - as effective with Marketing, Partnerships, and Broadcast as with your own team
  • A genuine passion for storytelling - not a line on a resume, but a way of seeing the world
