Position Summary

Watt Wheels LLC is seeking an experienced Head Mechanic to lead our service and repair operations for electric bicycles and related equipment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on mechanical experience working with bicycles, motorcycles, e-bikes, or electrical/mechanical systems. We're looking for someone who can diagnose problems, perform quality repairs, and take ownership of the day-to-day mechanical operations of an e-bike shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electric bicycles and related components.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Assemble, tune, and prepare e-bikes for customers.
  • Inspect bikes and identify mechanical, electrical, and safety issues.
  • Perform brake, drivetrain, wheel, tire, suspension, and other mechanical repairs.
  • Diagnose electrical systems, wiring, motors, controllers, batteries, and related components.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service area.
  • Help establish efficient repair and service procedures.
  • Train and assist other mechanics or service staff as needed.
  • Communicate repair needs and recommendations clearly to customers and team members.
  • Ensure repairs are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
  • Assist with inventory and maintaining necessary parts and shop supplies.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with one or more of the following:
    • Bicycles
    • Motorcycles
    • E-bikes
    • Electrical/mechanical systems
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of repair work.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced shop environment.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience specifically repairing e-bikes or electric vehicles.
  • Experience with electric motors, controllers, batteries, wiring, or electrical diagnostics.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring other mechanics.
  • Bicycle or motorcycle repair certifications are a plus.
