Job Summary

DNT is seeking a detail-oriented mid-level Manufacturing Drafter. This role will be responsible for transforming complex engineering concepts into precise technical drawings and designs. The ideal candidate will have some technical knowledge of steel production/fabrication and have the interpersonal skills to work well within a team. This position reports to the Head Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings based on exact specifications from the engineering team
  • Utilize CAD software to create blueprints for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and manufactuability
  • Update and maintain existing design documentation to reflect real-time engineering or manufacturing changes
  • Create design specifications, documentation and material lists
  • Manage and organize a digital library of all project drawings and specifications
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and company quality protocols
  • Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers
  • Developing technical reports for engineers

Require Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the steel industry
  • High proficiency in CAD software: knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor or Fusion 360 is a major plus
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technical engineering principles
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial environment or a degree/certification in Drafting/Design is preferred
  • Ability to multitask and mange several projects at a time
  • Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Engineers
  • Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
  • Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
  • Solid communication skills to bridge the gap between design and production
