Head Baseball Coach: Lawrence Central High School
Job Summary:
Oversee all aspects of the baseball program including but not limited to:


  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the sport, and maintain compliance with all NFHS rules updates and IHSAA by-laws
  • Attend local/state/national conferences as required
  • Develop philosophy of program and provide instruction in fundamental skills inline with philosphy
  • Assist in necessary preparation for all home contest including any IHSAA Tournament Series events
  • Hire and Evaluate assistant coaches in coordination with athletic  department staff
  • Delegate appropriate responsibilites to assistant coaches
  • Develop game and practice plans including overseeing the scouting of opponents
  • Assist athletes in post-graduate educational selection and recruiting
  • Participate in budgeting process for uniforms and equipment with athletic department staff
  • Provide proper supervision to athletes before, during, and after practices and contests
  • Keep accurate program records
  • Oversee off-season conditioning program
  • Coordinate strength-development program with strength coach
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with athletic department staff, teachers, other school personnel, and the media
  • Communicate effectively and a timely manner with student-athletes and families
  • Oversee post-practice and post-game field maintenance as necessary
  • Hold off-season camps as appropriate and develop a plan for feeder program involvement
