Job description

Job Summary:
Tri Star Energy is an industry leading, local, family-owned company based in Nashville, TN, seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Information Technology team. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing cross-functional enterprise project teams through all phases of projects, ensuring project objectives are met on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
• Works closely with cross-functional departments (i.e. Marketing, Accounting/Finance, and Field Operations), management, vendors, and technical groups to develop project artifacts and understand business processes and work flows in both the C-store and fuel retail/wholesale and distribution arenas.
• Works closely with customers and application developers to document technical and functional business and system requirements.
• Assists application developers and infrastructure engineers in converting requirements to system specification documents.
• Provides presentations to executive management on new system proposals, business processes, project status, cost justification / business case.
• Mentors project team and business analysts on process workflows, project methodologies and financial justification models.
• Assist in meeting expense and EBITDA goals for projects.
• Develops and manages innovative project plans and financial models to ensure maximum ROI/EBITDA, IRR, and payback period for all projects.
• Recommends and implements business, software and technical solutions based on positive ROI/EBITDA, and IRR.
• Ensures new systems, updates and enhancements meet all SOX and PCI requirements and includes both as requirements in project planning. Includes audit and control as part of project team.
• Creates project charter, statement of work, and initial cost/benefit justification for all projects.
• Completes process reviews to determine as-is and to-be workflows to be used as a foundation for system requirements and development.
• Manages and communicates project status through entire project life cycle.
• Conducts regularly scheduled project status meetings and communicates results to project team, customers, and stakeholders.
• Coordinates and oversees testing and implementation of all software and hardware projects. Ability to manage multiple platforms.
• Develops guidelines for measuring project success and communicates to project team, customers, and senior management.
• Manages and mentors project team members through all project phases.
• Tracks resource usage and timelines during all phases of the project life cycle using MS Project.
• Ensures documentation is completed and made available to customer base prior to implementation.
• Assists developers with application architecture and coding (standards) on multiple platforms.
• Seeks feedback from project team, customers, and senior management on areas for improvement as part of post implementation.
• Completes technical training required to support existing technology.
• Stays abreast of technology updates in Point of Sale, C-store, fuel, and business arena.
• Develops soft and interpersonal skills to lead and manage cross functional business and development teams.
• Mentors and develops other project leaders. Versed in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Assists development team with application architecture and infrastructure improvements and implementation.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years’ experience as an IT project leader, ideally in an Agile environment.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
• Prior experience with implementations and support of Dynamics 365 and CRM solutions using industry trends and project management best practices. Successful completion of managing and leading one complete full lifecycle Dynamics 365 implementation project.
• Prior experience leading software development, hardware, and cross departmental enterprise level projects.
• Strong data analytics and data management orientation, ideally with experience as a Business Analyst building financial justifications, cost / benefit analyses, business cases.
• Experience with MS Project and MS Sharepoint.
• Excellent attention to detail, follow up, and delivery focused.
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience in job-related activities.
Preferred:
• Experience in the Retail, Point of Sale (POS), Payments, Food Service, Restaurant, Hospitality, or Fuel industries.
• Experience leading Data/BI Projects.
