Summary
Cleans hatchers, hatcher tops and hatcher room so as to maintain a low to zero bacteria and mold level. Empties hatcher racks back in to the hatcher room at completion of clean up. Performs various job duties such as Egg Setter, Santitation, Culling, and Tray Wash. This position is located onsite at our facility in Forsyth, Georgia.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Cleans hatchers, hatcher tops and hatcher room so as to maintain a low to zero bacteria and mold level.
  • Empties hatcher racks back in to the hatcher room at completion of clean up.
  • Must be able to use broom, shovel, mop and scrub brushes to remove chick down, and work with chemicals to effectively wash and disinfect hatchers through hand scrubbing and high pressure washer.
  • Must follow poultry welfare guidelines.
  • Lift trays and lids, each weighing approximately 4 lbs., from tray washer and stack the trays on a clean hatcher dolly. Must be able to meet production requirements of 585 trays per hour.
  • Stack trays 15 high or approximately 6 feet in height, place lid on top tray and roll completed stack weighing approximately 75 lbs. To storage area.
  • Perform light maintenance as needed on tray washer by climbing a ladder approximately 6 feet in height to reach over and into tray washer.
  • Clean up washroom area after production, using hoses, detergents, and disinfectants with some hand scrubbing involved while wearing proper PPE.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.
  • Prepare an egg set sheet based off of the inventory in the egg and room and incoming loads. Making sure to set eggs in the order of young, old and prime. Also making sure to place the proper age in the proper machine. Prepare tickets based off of egg set sheet.
  • Unload egg trucks as they arrive. Trucks will have up to 36 racks weighing 500 lbs. each that will have to be pushed a distance of 100 ft. Reload truck with empty racks weighing 150 lbs. each. Clean egg truck prior to reloading.

  • High school or equivalent

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidities up to 100%.
  • Exposed to chemicals, drups and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to lift 4 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20 - 25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet.
  • Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
