Job description

hatchery laborer Job Description
This position is responsible for performing various tasks in the hatchery while following all Company Safety and Animal Welfare Policies. Primary responsibility is assisting an egg driver with delivering empties and picking up egg buggies. Egg buggies can weigh around 1200lbs depending on the buggy size. This person will be cross-trained to assist with the flow of the chick production line as well as tracking chick inventory (See chick processing front and back line job descriptions below). Other responsibilities may include QA, vaccine mixing or other miscellaneous tasks as needed in regards to chick processing and hatchery.
Primary work schedule is Monday through Friday typically 8am-4pm. May be needed to fill in for the production line from 4am until the job is done on Monday-Friday, except Wednesdays start time is 5:30am.
Must be able to work holidays as scheduled. Weekends may be scheduled at times during the year to work around holidays. Sometimes time varies if we have to change the time but will be notified in advance.

Able to work in hot, cold environments with occasional extended shifts.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY MANAGEMENT.
Required Skills
Reading, General Math and Writing Skills. Basic computer skills.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Willing and able to stand for several hours.

The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following:
Exposed to temperatures of 60 degrees to 105 degrees and humidity's up to 100%.
Exposed to chemicals, drugs, and vaccines to be covered in M.S.D.S. training and hazardous communications.
Use P.P.E. as required.
Bending and twisting motions
Repetitive reaching and lifting of a maximum of 40 lbs.
Requires constant standing and walking.
Be able to push or pull up to 50 lbs.
