Job description

About Harri

It's a great time to join Harri as we revolutionize the hospitality industry with our cutting-edge technology solutions for workforce management. We're an innovative, high-growth company with a global presence, dedicated to building strong partnerships and delivering measurable value to our customers.

We are excited to recruit for this pivotal Director, Product Compliance & Strategic Innovation role. Reporting directly to the VP, Strategic Risk and Compliance, you will be a founding leader in establishing and scaling our dedicated Compliance Business Unit. This is a high-impact leadership position designed for a visionary who pairs deep HCM domain expertise with a passion for AI-centric product development and regulatory transformation.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Director, you will be a hands-on executive responsible for the architectural integrity of Harri's compliance standards globally. Your mandate includes:

  • Business Unit Leadership: Partner with the VP, Strategic Risk and Compliance to architect, launch, and manage a world-class Compliance Business Unit, defining its operational framework and long-term roadmap.
  • AI & Innovation Strategy: Lead the charge in integrating AI-centric solutions into our product development lifecycle. You will explore how machine learning and automation can enhance regulatory tracking, predictive risk modeling, and automated requirement generation.
  • Strategic Regulatory Navigation: Research and interpret complex regulatory, safety, and labor requirements for global expansion. You won't just follow rules; you will anticipate shifts in the global HCM landscape to keep Harri ahead of the curve.
  • Advanced Requirement Definition: Translate intricate regulatory demands into high-level product strategy and functional requirements, ensuring compliance is a competitive advantage rather than a hurdle.
  • Compliance Architecture: Oversight of compliance logic and functional requirements. You will review internal release notes and wireframes to ensure regulatory integrity is "baked in" from the first line of code.
  • Elite Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison for Outside Counsel, regulatory agencies, and executive leadership, ensuring that Harri's product evolution is perfectly aligned with global legal guidance.
  • Enterprise Risk Management: Conduct sophisticated Risk Assessments to identify systemic compliance threats and develop robust test cases for routine, automated audits.
  • Market Enablement: Act as the ultimate compliance authority for Customer Success, Sales, and Enterprise clients, providing the strategic insights and enablement content necessary to win and retain the world's largest hospitality brands.

More About You: What Can You Bring?

We are looking for a strategic powerhouse and a proven leader in the HCM space. You are a visionary who understands that the future of compliance lies in AI and automation.

  • Experience: 8-10+ years of proven leadership experience in a compliance, product, or legal role within a SaaS software company or top-tier consulting firm. Specific experience in the Hospitality industry and the HCM/Workforce Management space is essential.
  • AI Interest: A demonstrable interest or experience in AI-centric product innovation, specifically regarding how AI can be leveraged to solve complex regulatory challenges.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; JD, Master's in Regulatory Affairs, or advanced business degree preferred.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional ability to distill complex legal jargon into actionable business strategy for senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • Analytical Rigor: Expert-level problem-solving skills with a track record of quantifying risk and implementing scalable mitigation strategies.
  • Global Mindset: Proven success working within cross-functional, globally distributed environments.
  • Domain Expertise: Mastery of global labor laws (e.g., Fair Workweek, GDPR, Predictive Scheduling) and a deep understanding of the unique compliance pressures facing the hospitality sector.

When and Where You'll Be Doing It

  • Position: Full-time.
  • Location: New York, US.
  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000 (USD), depending on experience.
  • Reports To: VP, Strategic Risk and Compliance.

What Will You Get in Return?

Creating an environment which enables our people to thrive is crucial for us. Harri offers a comprehensive compensation structure designed to support you throughout your career here. You'll get:

  • Competitive salary within the stated range.
  • The opportunity to build a business unit from the ground up and influence the strategic direction of a global market leader.
  • A seat at the table in driving AI innovation within the HCM space.
  • Experience working in a high-octane, global, and collaborative environment.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

We're committed to building diverse talent at Harri and believe our strengths as a team come from having many unique perspectives. We value a healthy, vibrant, and inclusive organization that encourages everyone to be themselves at work. We are committed to valuing diversity and promoting equal opportunities for all and welcome applicants from all communities.
