Job description

Overview
HarperCollins Publishers is currently seeking a Production Associate to assist the Reprint Production department in daily tasks related to the reprinting of backlist titles. The Associate will be responsible for issuing purchase orders, achieving optimal pricing, maintaining schedule fidelity, and overseeing the reprint production lifecycle for both Adult and Children's titles. The Associate will also be working extensively with our digital printing vendors. This is a high volume and fast-paced position. It is a great opportunity for a self-starter who wishes to learn about making books, both print and digital.
This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring onsite presence 3 days per week at our office at 777 Scudders Mill Road, Plainsboro, NJ.
Responsibilities
  • Assist department and Director with various
  • Issue Purchase Orders to outside printers and binderies for manufacturing of both Adult and Children's titles.
  • Liase with Inventory Management, outside vendors, and other key stakeholders to accurately manufacture and deliver finished goods in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate with Digital Print vendors, troubleshoot file discrepancies.
  • Prepare and traffic production files, ensuring all materials meet printer specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications
  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work and communicate across internal departments and external vendors
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prior publishing experience a plus, but not required
