GENERAL SUMMARY
The Reliever Airports Specialist is responsible for revenue management and tenant relations of at the IAA's five Reliever Airports including providing strategic and tactical planning and compliance with INDOT regulations applicable to the Reliever Airports, providing quality customer service and oversight to reliever airport facilities The position requires interaction with and innovative suggestions to IAA's Reliever Airport business partners to provide support and development of growth in the general aviation sector. The Reliever Airports Specialist will provide direct support to the Properties Department to assist in managing the tenants' leasing space at the reliever airports. The Reliever Airports Specialist is to possess and exhibit a well-developed understanding of airport operations, customer service, and the fundamentals of leadership and has experience conducting and overseeing various requirements while working with other functional units within and outside of the organization.
This position is also responsible for budgeting and forecasting revenue associated with the five reliever airports; maximizing revenue opportunities; negotiating and gaining execution of agricultural/hay/pasture agreements and use permits; and management of special projects related to the reliever airports. Responsibilities include oversight and direct support of t-hangar inventory, key/core management, termination request processing, acquisition of deposits, and execution of t-hangar & storage unit agreements. Ensures customer agreement compliance. The position is responsible for supporting the collection and resolution efforts of delinquent reliever airport accounts, as described in the IAA's AR Policy.
This position negotiates, creates, reviews, and oversees most reliever agreements; legally required reliever airport documents with the Farm Service Agency (FSA); and completes an annual physical inspection and accounting of all based aircraft for the State of Indiana.
This position is also directly responsible for the implementation of any IAA marketing campaigns related to the revenue generation at the general aviation airports, responds to inquiries, interacts with civic and political representatives, and coordinates information with other departments. This position is responsible for keeping the IAA web site reliever pages up to date with current information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of reliever airport operations.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices associated with general aviation aircraft, t-hangars, corporate aircraft and facilities maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques, and equipment used in airport operations.
  • Supports negotiations with tenants, service contractors, and customers on IAA assets.
  • Control t-hangar inventory on computer.
  • Modifies/reviews/interprets contractual agreements.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures.
  • Manages/leads/directs the tenant relationship at the IAA's reliever airports.
  • Manages/leads/directs property and facility maintenance by contractor in cooperation with Superintendent.
  • Manages property/facility/equipment projects as assigned.
  • Prepare purchase orders and other documents and reports.
  • Perform any other functions assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduation from high school, completion of a GED, or vocational school is required. A combination of education and experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position is preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in equipment or facility maintenance preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Accounting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the commercial aircraft maintenance and repair (MRO) industry.
  • Ability to perform all the physical and cognitive tasks outlined in the job description.
  • Ability to perform all the essential functions of the job outlined above without creating a direct threat to the safety of oneself or others.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds or more. While performing in this role, the employee must operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license; but also operate aviation ground equipment and forklift. Use of a computer and other personal assistance devices (tablets or mobile phone) are a must for this position, along with adding machines, fax machines and other office equipment. Operation of an airport radio is also required.
  • Work Environment: This position is performed within an office environment approximately 70% of the time. The other 30% of work is performed outside where the employee will be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. With multiple worksites the noise level varies from the office environment and the outside environment. The incumbent in this position is expected to work independently and as part of the team. The incumbent in this role will be exposed to outside and inside environments, dust, dirt, mud and hazardous chemicals.
