Requirements
Job Summary:
Panelmatic is looking for a detailed-oriented and hands-on Packaging & Crating Technician. As part of our team, you oversee and document the receiving of packages, parcels, and supplies, store items in the appropriate areas, and prepare items for shipping. This is a position that requires a highly organized personality. You must pay close attention to small details while managing the logistics of a high volume of items entering and leaving the facility.
The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and comfortable working with tools, materials, and equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Job Duties:
  • Clean, inspect, and prepare finished panels and components for shipment
  • Build custom crates, skids, and packaging to protect equipment during transport
  • Measure, cut, and install materials such as duct covers and gasket materials
  • Read blueprints and follow packaging specifications
  • Photograph and document finished products prior to shipment
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts and other equipment
  • Operate tools including panel saws, nailers, staplers, and hand tools
  • Maintain inventory of packaging and shipping supplies
  • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace
  • Assist with facility layout and space utilization as needed
  • Drive company box truck (26 ft) (DOT medical card required) for deliveries when required
  • Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of forklift experience
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use hand/power tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting)
  • Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and driving record check
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office)
  • Valid driver's license (DOT medical card required or ability to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in carpentry, construction, or crating/packaging
  • Experience building crates, pallets, or custom packaging
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
