Seated Assembly information

What is a seated assembly?

A Seated Assembly job involves putting together parts or products while sitting at a workstation. Workers typically use hand tools or small machines to assemble components, inspect finished work, and may also be responsible for packaging or labeling items. This type of job is common in industries like electronics, medical devices, and small parts manufacturing. It is suitable for individuals who prefer or require seated work and who have good manual dexterity and attention to detail.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a seated assembly worker?

To thrive as a Seated Assembly Worker, you need good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow assembly instructions, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with basic hand tools, assembly line machinery, and sometimes quality control systems is typically required. Strong focus, patience, and the ability to work efficiently in a team setting are valuable soft skills in this role. These skills ensure products are assembled accurately and efficiently, maintaining quality and productivity in manufacturing environments.

What are some common challenges faced by seated assembly workers, and how can they be managed on the job?

Seated Assembly workers often encounter challenges such as maintaining focus during repetitive tasks, managing physical fatigue, and ensuring high accuracy in product assembly. To address these, it's important to take regular short breaks, follow ergonomic practices to reduce strain, and double-check work for quality control. Many companies provide training on proper posture and workflow techniques, and support from team leads can help in resolving issues quickly. Strong communication with supervisors and colleagues also helps maintain productivity and address any concerns promptly.

Job description

Job Title: Production Associate 1st or 2nd Shift ($17.00-$18.00 HR)

Job Description

This role supports multiple production stations within a clean, laid-back manufacturing environment, focusing on small-part assembly and electronic cable assembly. There are four openings across first and second shifts, and candidates will be considered for several closely related positions, including Gluing Operator, Shelling Cables, and Housing Cable Assembly. Based on the interview, you will be matched to one of these roles, all of which involve reading work instructions, meeting daily quotas, and performing highly repetitive, seated work with a strong emphasis on quality and attention to detail. We are looking for individuals to interview and start as soon as possible. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half. Apply Today!

Responsibilities

• Assemble small electronic components and cable assemblies according to detailed work instructions and production orders.

• Perform repetitive seated assembly work while maintaining quality, accuracy, and productivity standards.

• Glue, connect, and secure wires, circuit boards, and plastic housings using small hand tools and assembly equipment.

• Operate assembly machinery, foot pedals, and small presses to complete production tasks safely and efficiently.

•Conduct visual inspections to identify defects and ensure products meet quality requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to perform visual inspection with high attention to detail, identifying defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Experience working in a production or assembly line environment (preferred), with familiarity in meeting quotas and productivity metrics.
  • Hands-on experience assembling small parts, particularly in small-part or electronic assembly settings.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently throughout the shift.
  • Comfort with highly repetitive tasks while seated for extended periods, maintaining focus and quality.
  • General production and assembly skills, including working with hand tools and basic machine operation.
  • Experience with small-part assembly and general production work in a cleanroom or similarly controlled environment (as applicable).
  • Capability to perform visual inspection as part of electronic assembly and general production processes.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong, positive attitude toward meeting productivity and quality expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with cables and cable assemblies, including connecting wires to circuit boards.
  • Experience in electronics or electronic assembly, especially involving small components and circuit boards.
  • Familiarity with production environments where work is measured by length, quantity, or other specific metrics.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-based production flow where each station’s output affects the next.
  • Comfort using small hand presses and foot-operated equipment in a safe and controlled manner.

Why Work Here?

You will join a very clean and laid-back production environment where you can focus on your work while listening to music through ear pods (audio only, no videos). The organization offers competitive pay rates for this type of work and has a track record of converting contractors to direct employees after several months for those who demonstrate excellent attendance, a great attitude, and strong productivity. You will contribute to products used in the construction industry that help evaluate concrete quality and foundation conditions, supporting safer and more efficient building projects while enjoying a stable, supportive workplace.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production-focused environment where all related positions operate within a single room, allowing you to see the full flow of work—from crimping to housing cable assemblies, shelling cables, and gluing. The workspace is very clean and organized, with approximately 12 employees seated at individual workstations performing small-part and cable assembly tasks. Work is primarily seated and repetitive, with a strong emphasis on maintaining production flow; if one area falls behind, it can impact the rest of the line. The atmosphere is laid back yet productivity-driven, and you may wear ear pods to listen to music during your shift, provided you do not watch videos. Shifts are structured as first shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) and second shift (3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.), offering options that can align with different scheduling needs. Dress expectations align with a clean production setting, emphasizing safety and comfort appropriate for working with small parts, hand tools, and light machinery.
