About the Role

We are seeking a high-integrity, detail-oriented Tax Associate who is as comfortable working with numbers as they are with people. In this role, youโ€™ll not only ensure that client tax returns are accurate and compliant, but youโ€™ll also play a key part in creating a smooth, supportive client experience.

This is a dynamic position that requires both technical precision and emotional intelligence. Youโ€™ll guide clients through the process of gathering their documents, help them understand their filing requirements, and provide clarity on complex tax matters. At the same time, youโ€™ll ensure clients feel cared for, supported, and confident in the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file tax documents, including individual and business income tax returns.
  • Check documents, financial statements, and filings for errors or inconsistencies.
  • Meet with clients to review their tax situation, gather information, and answer questions.
  • Work with clients to organize and collect necessary tax documentation.
  • Provide support to clients through the tax filling process.
  • Assist clients in responding to IRS or state notices, audits, collections, and related issues.
  • Communicate clearly with clients to explain tax requirements and address concerns.
  • Support the team during peak filing seasons, maintaining both speed and accuracy.
  • Perform other clerical and administrative duties as necessary to support the office.
  • Ensure all returns are filed on time and in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Must Haveโ€™s

  • Client Facing Role
  • Have prior experience in tax preparation (or industry) or a related accounting role.
  • Bring strong integrity, professionalism, and a client-first mindset.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pay close attention to detail and accuracy in all your work.
  • Can prioritize and manage multiple clients and deadlines.
  • Use emotional intelligence and people skills to make clients feel understood and supported

A plus if you have...

  • Hold a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Maintain a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
  • Are an Enrolled Agent or actively pursuing EA status.
  • CTEC License.
  • Bookkeeping experience
  • Are familiar with QuickBooks software and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Offer bilingual communication skills
  • Can translate complex financial information into clear, client-friendly language.
