Lead Mechanical Estimator – Drive Commercial Project Acquisition and Strategic Partnerships

Job Overview

The Opportunity

You will serve as a cornerstone of our leadership team, directly influencing the company’s growth by securing high-value commercial contracts. This role offers the autonomy to manage the full pre-construction lifecycle while building lasting professional relationships with key industry stakeholders. You will leverage your technical field knowledge to ensure our bids are both competitive and profitable.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Analyze complex construction documents and specifications to prepare precise labor and material estimates.
  • Orchestrate the bidding process for commercial projects of all sizes to ensure timely and winning submissions.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and General Contractors.
  • Engineer detailed budgets and cost breakdowns, including Schedule of Values and Time Card structures.
  • Execute the procurement process by writing subcontracts and purchase orders to align with project budgets.
  • Facilitate seamless project handoffs by creating comprehensive Job Books and Superintendent Books for field teams.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial plumbing or mechanical estimating.
  • Proficient in FastPipe, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven experience interpreting architectural plans and wet-side mechanical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of operational logistics, including planning and project scheduling.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet critical bidding deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • 4 years of related experience with a background in field-level plumbing or mechanical work.
  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and winning competitive commercial bids.
  • Experience acting in an Assistant Project Manager capacity.
