Description
Main Purpose:
The Project Manager provides project management support and customer service to clients. Responsibilities also include management of the project schedule, budget and materials. This position will work closely with the Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing teams to manage customer projects from drawing submittal through project completion.
Essential Functions:
  • Review contract requirements, terms and conditions, technical specifications and project schedules for compliance
  • Act as the primary liaison between Gulf Island and the customer, providing open communication through project completion
  • Resolve customer problems and needs
  • Manage project requirements from order entry to shipment to ensure project is completed at targeted financial goals
  • Manage overall project schedule through the engineering and manufacturing process
  • Ensure all projects are executed to Customer, Company and Industry specifications and standards, emphasizing safety, customer satisfaction and product output is performed with quality and profitability
  • Manage and execute all project kickoff, status, emergency, testing, lessons learned and other meetings both internally and externally with customers and vendors
  • Track and report project status, milestones and budget to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and adherence to project
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing

  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field, equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of degree
  • 7+ years experience as a Project Manager of Lump Sum and Time and Material (T&M) projects
  • Previous experience in the Automation, Fabrication and /or Integration Industry
  • Proven experience with clients, vendors and employees
  • Experience in design, installation, compliance and performance
  • Experience in cost control, budgeting and procurement
  • Proven experience in bid evaluations and proposals
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and / or Professional Engineer (PE) professional license(s), membership(s), and / or specialized training preferred

Tools, Equipment and Technology:
  • Office and computer equipment

Environmental Conditions:
80 to 90% of the work activities are performed indoors.
