Description
Main Purpose:
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of the product, as defined in the Engineering drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for their assigned Enclosure area. This position also must appropriately and subsequently confirm corrections have been made when non-compliant document is presented. This role will be responsible for gathering and maintaining an understanding of one or more of the Enclosure areas, such as Pre-Fabrication; Enclosure Assembly and Roofs, Doors and Sub-assembly (RDS); Painting; Final Assembly and Electrical.
Essential Functions:
  • Read and interpret Engineering drawings, work instructions etc. to understand the requirements of the products
  • Verify that the products meets Engineering drawings and SOP requirements using tape measures, pressure gauges, torque wrenches and other required methods
  • Document inspections and testing on the appropriate forms
  • Photograph accepted condition of product and components to the appropriate files
  • Upload inspection and testing documents to files
  • Be involved in the process by assisting Production to ensure quality is built into the product without interfering with the production process
  • Assist to resolve quality related issues in a timely manner
  • Support the Quality Lead, Quality Engineer and Quality Manager as necessary to complete daily tasks and projects
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned by the Quality Control Lead, Engineer and Manager
  • Communicate clearly with Production and Engineering as necessary to resolve quality issues
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience as a Quality Control Inspector with a focus on manufacturing or assemblies
  • Strong understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC), if candidate for the Electrical Enclosure area
  • Strong understanding of quality control principals and standards
  • Good math and technical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:
  • Previous experience in QC Inspection for generator enclosures or similar assembly projects

Tools, Equipment and Technology:
  • Computer and office equipment, tape measure, pressure gauges, torque wrenches, other various tools etc.

Environmental Conditions:
80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
