Job description

Senior Sales Engineer

B2B SaaS for SLED/PubSec

Location: Remote in the US

Compensation: $160-180k (with $40k variable)

We’re partnering with a market leader in technology intelligence that helps organizations gain visibility and control across their entire IT ecosystem -- from on-prem infrastructure to cloud and SaaS. Their platform enables public sector organizations to reduce risk, improve compliance, optimize spend, and make smarter, data-driven technology decisions.

Across Federal, State, Local Government, and Education (SLED), they support mission-critical initiatives by helping agencies understand what technology they own, how it’s being used, where vulnerabilities exist, and how to stay compliant in increasingly complex environments. Their solutions are trusted by government agencies, universities, and public institutions to bring clarity and governance to rapidly evolving IT landscapes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Partner with Account Executives to drive technical strategy across public sector opportunities

  • Lead discovery, deliver tailored demos, and run solution workshops for diverse stakeholders

  • Design and execute PoCs/PoVs that clearly demonstrate business value

  • Support public sector procurement processes (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs)

  • Position solutions around visibility, governance, cost optimization, and risk reduction

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful sales cycles and smooth post-sale transitions

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years in Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a similar pre-sales role

  • Experience supporting SLED, federal, or broader public sector customers

  • Background selling enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, or IT operations solutions

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments

  • Familiarity with public sector procurement (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, contract vehicles)

  • Ability to navigate long, complex sales cycles with a value-based approach (MEDDPICC or similar)

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive audiences

Preferred Experience

  • IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM)

  • SaaS management or technology intelligence platforms

  • Software licensing, governance, or compliance

  • Cybersecurity or vulnerability management

  • Experience selling into complex, multi-stakeholder environments

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive base salary + commission ($200-220 OTE, depending on experience)

  • Comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision)

  • Retirement programs including a 401k and employee investment/stock purchase programs

  • Generous PTO, paid holidays, sick time, and volunteer time off

  • Fully remote position with approximately 20% travel

  • Various employee resource programs such as parental leave, adoption assistance, student loan support, tuition reimbursement, etc.

  • Opportunity to work with complex, high-impact public sector deals supporting mission-driven organizations

  • Collaborative pre-sales culture with access to cloud, value engineering, and technical SMEs
