Job description

SUMMARY

This position entails selling tickets to the public at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Box Office, being a guest relations ambassador during events, assisting with answering incoming telephone calls from guests and providing outstanding customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell tickets at arena box office selling counter and act as guest relations during events.
  • Enter appropriate guest information into computer, acquire payment, verify/process credit card charge if applicable and electronically send tickets to guest.
  • Provide information to guests regarding various events as requested via phone and/or in person.
  • Assist guests with ticket pickup from will call window.
  • Assist guests with retrieval of their previously purchased mobile tickets when they are having challenges accessing these tickets on their mobile device.
  • Other duties as assigned.

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires event work which means candidates must be flexible and willing to work evenings, a minimum of two weekends a month as well as holidays such as Thanksgiving/New Year’s and Easter weekend.
  • Candidates must make themselves available to be scheduled for 50% of the events each month.
  • Daytime availability between the hours of 10 AM to 5 PM is also a plus for this role.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ticketing and computer experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret maps, instruction sheets, and coupon sheets/grids. Ability to effectively present information and respond clearly to questions from guests. Excellent customer relations skills, being able to handle difficult customer service issues and achieve a positive outcome.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Knowledge to apply mathematical operations to certain tasks.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret directions.

PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate must have the ability to answer guest questions and address any problems as they arise and to provide a positive, mutually beneficial outcome to resolve the situation.
