What is a GTM engineer?

A GTM (Go-to-Market) Engineer is a professional who bridges the gap between technical product development and commercial teams. GTM Engineers work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure new products or features are successfully launched and adopted in the market. They help translate technical capabilities into customer benefits, provide technical expertise during sales cycles, and may assist with product demonstrations, solution architecture, and customer feedback. Their goal is to accelerate product adoption and support revenue growth through technical enablement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a GTM engineer?

To excel as a GTM Engineer, you need a solid background in software engineering, product management, and business acumen, often with a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, cloud services, APIs, and analytics tools is commonly required. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help bridge technical and business teams effectively. Mastering these areas ensures successful product launches, customer satisfaction, and alignment between technical solutions and market needs.

What are some typical challenges a GTM engineer faces when integrating new products into existing sales and marketing workflows?

A GTM Engineer often encounters challenges such as aligning technical product features with the needs of the sales and marketing teams, ensuring seamless data flow between tools (like CRMs and marketing automation platforms), and translating complex product capabilities into clear value propositions. Additionally, they must anticipate and resolve compatibility or scalability issues that could impact go-to-market strategies. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and maintaining open communication is key to overcoming these hurdles and ensuring successful product launches.

Job description

Why Socure?
Socure is building the identity trust infrastructure for the digital economy - verifying 100% of good identities in real time and stopping fraud before it starts. The mission is big, the problems are complex, and the impact is felt by businesses, governments, and millions of people every day.
We hire people who want that level of responsibility. People who move fast, think critically, act like owners, and care deeply about solving customer problems with precision. If you want predictability or narrow scope, this won't be your place. If you want to help build the future of identity with a team that holds a high bar for itself - keep reading.
Socure is searching for a Head of Growth Engineering-an entrepreneurial leader who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product, marketing, and go-to-market. In this high-impact role, you'll define and lead the systems, team, and experimentation engine that power how Socure creates demand, personalizes pipeline, and unlocks customer acquisition across multiple verticals.
This is a rare opportunity to build a new function at the frontier of AI-native growth. You'll architect the operating model, shape the roadmap, and build the infrastructure that enables faster experimentation, sharper targeting, and more scalable customer engagement. You're equal parts builder, strategist, and operator: someone who can zoom out to define the vision, then dive in to ship, test, and iterate with speed.
You'll lead the kind of team great growth marketers and engineers want to be part of-hands-on, deeply curious, data-obsessed, and relentlessly focused on measurable business impact. If you're excited to build the future of growth through automation, AI, and high-leverage systems, this is your moment. You won't just support growth-you'll engineer the function that scales it.
What You'll Do
  • Define and lead Socure's growth engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap across acquisition, activation, conversion, and expansion.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing growth engineering team, setting a high bar for experimentation, technical quality, speed, and business impact.
  • Scale sales and marketing through automation, AI assistance, and accessible insights that improve execution across GTM.
  • Architect and own the systems that power campaign automation, lifecycle journeys, personalization, lead routing, and new GTM workflows.
  • Build and operationalize AI agents that accelerate campaign creation, prospecting, onboarding, customer communication, and cross-sell motions.
  • Launch full-stack growth experiments, interactive landing pages, calculators, demos, and lightweight products that drive pipeline, organic traffic, and referrals.
  • Design innovative outbound and prospecting systems using tools like Clay, GenAI agents, enrichment platforms, and web automation tools.
  • Partner with marketing, RevOps, partnerships, product, and sales leadership to align growth experiments with commercial priorities and pipeline goals.
  • Establish a rigorous experimentation program, including A/B testing frameworks, measurement plans, decision criteria, and rapid iteration loops.
  • Build the data and reporting layer that helps RevOps and Marketing Ops better understand funnel performance, attribution, and behavioral signals.
  • Create reusable playbooks, internal tools, and AI-powered workflows that act as force multipliers for GTM teams across the business.
  • Monitor market shifts, competitive signals, and customer sentiment to inform positioning, messaging, and growth opportunities.
  • Lead the development of self-service growth experiences with elegant UX, dynamic messaging, and measurable conversion outcomes.
  • Continuously evaluate new tools, platforms, and AI capabilities, bringing the best ideas in-house to strengthen Socure's growth engine.
What You'll Bring
  • Strong full-stack technical fluency, with experience building production-quality experiments, internal tools, automations, or growth systems using technologies such as JavaScript, Python, and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Deep experience with APIs, webhooks, data integrations, and automation platforms such as Zapier, Retool, Make, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with growth and outbound platforms such as Clay, Apollo, Clearbit, Instantly, or similar tools, including multi-step enrichment, segmentation, and activation workflows.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, audience logic, instrumentation, and funnel analysis to measure performance and guide optimization.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to connect product, marketing, and GTM infrastructure into scalable operating workflows.
AI-Driven Growth
  • Proven experience building or integrating AI agents, copilots, or LLM-powered workflows that improve speed, personalization, and efficiency across GTM motions.
  • Fluency with modern AI tooling such as ChatGPT, Claude, embeddings-based workflows, and prompt-driven systems for content generation, research, and orchestration.
  • Ability to design scalable messaging systems that adapt by vertical, use case, persona, and buying signal without sacrificing quality or clarity.
Leadership & Growth Strategy
  • Track record of defining and leading growth experiments across acquisition, onboarding, activation, retention, or expansion.
  • Experience building or leading cross-functional teams, with the ability to recruit strong talent, coach effectively, and create clarity in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong judgment in prioritizing what to build, what to test, and what to scale based on measurable business impact.
  • Deep understanding of demand generation, brand storytelling, lifecycle marketing, GTM personalization, and the mechanics of modern funnel optimization.
  • A builder's mindset with a bias toward action, a love of experimentation, and a high bar for both velocity and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, identity, fraud, risk, or similarly complex regulated markets.
  • Experience building growth systems that serve multiple industries, verticals, or product lines with tailored messaging and workflows.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing systems such as Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot, Segment, or similar platforms.
  • Experience leading in fast-paced, high-growth environments where functions are still being built and scaled.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to communicate technical and growth concepts clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
