Job description

GROWMARK FS is headquartered in Milford, Delaware with branches in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. GROWMARK FS has about 500 employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 13,000 customers. The cooperative does business in seed, agronomy, energy, crop protection, precision agriculture, and custom application. GROWMARK FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 400,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Provides interim leadership to GROWMARK FS, LLC Western Region employees, coordinating sales, operations, public relations, and control activities to ensure business continuity and sustained profitability. Supports and guides employees to maintain strong sales performance and service levels while collaborating with leadership to uphold company objectives during the interim assignment.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Provides direction and support to assigned Crop Specialists and Location Managers to maintain ongoing business operations and customer relationships. Reinforces performance expectations, offers coaching and feedback, and ensures adherence to established performance management standards. Maintains effective communication with regional and corporate personnel, as well as GROWMARK, Inc., to ensure continuity of a professional and effective sales team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Generates profitable sales by maintaining present business and generating new sales.

Maintains a current competitive analysis and reports all potential competitor status changes to management.

Assists sales personnel with key accounts and provides direct sales support as needed.

Operates at a profitable level by monitoring and controlling expenses.

Monitors expenses and supports efforts to maintain financial performance.

Upholds established pricing structures to maintain profitability and market competitiveness.

Oversees inventory levels and coordinates with procurement and suppliers to meet operational needs.

Monitors facilities, equipment, and procedures to support safe and compliant operations.

Assists with complaint resolution and claim management to support customer satisfaction.

Supports implementation and monitoring of sales programs and initiatives.

Maintains existing sales programs and assists in addressing regional and specialty market needs.

Reinforces sales administration processes, including expectations, coaching, and follow-up.

Ensures equipment and facility needs are identified and communicated to leadership.

Supports compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies.

Reinforces adherence to company credit policies within the assigned region.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Supports recruitment and development efforts to maintain staffing and performance levels.

Assists with training and informational meetings.

Maintains industry relationships and supports community involvement efforts.

Collaborates with leadership to support company goals and priorities.

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a Bachelor's degree in a business related field or the equivalent thereof, and 10 years or more of business related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of leadership and the ability to supervise employees and generate profitable sales and gain market share.

Prefer FS Company management and/or GROWMARK operations experience.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Working knowledge of financial reporting and business operations preferred.

Must have and maintain valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Ability to travel independently and overnight.

Ability to work extended hours.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
