THE JOB:
As a Group Housing Manager, you will assist with managing and directing the daily operations for the Group Housing teams, including oversight to a team of Supervisors, Specialists, Room Blocks and Contract Coordinators. You will be critical to the efforts in establishing strategic group client partnerships, setting the stage for a successful group guest experience with your welcoming smile and leadership, passion for service, and the ability to problem solve. By understanding each team members' unique stories and needs, you will own enhance their experience to create by supporting and motivating the team in creating WOW moments and memories they for their respective clients. The Group Housing Manager works out of our off-site corporate location and with the support of Directors, they support the overall experience for the Group Housing team, including but not limited to overseeing the daily operations, job knowledge, training, coaching, and ensuring the proficient and accurate use of our systems and processes. In doing so, this allows us to create memorable experiences for our group clientele and affiliated attendees.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Ensures the assigned operational functions of Group Housing are consistent with the established with the departmental guidelines/standards.
  • Manage and monitor daily labor, departmental budget, operations of Group Housing, and marketing strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability for the company, while meeting departmental needs and objectives.
  • Manages the delivery and management of our service standards and affiliated group surveys, initiating recognition opportunities and enacting relevant action plans with the team.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities for Group Services Housing to include: creating a work environment that creates teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes, that encompass the company's diversity commitment.
  • Attend meetings with clients and the Property staff as needed, managing coverage and support to the Specialists in the liaison efforts between Sales/Convention, Hotel, Accounting, Revenue and the meeting planner clients.
  • Manage the team and processes associated with monitoring all contracted group blocks block and pick ups on a daily basis.
  • Attend weekly block and pick up review meetings and support the teams in ensuring we provide accurate updates of all groups, any historical patterns and circumstances which may either positively or negatively impact room inventory/revenue.
  • Supports the strategic goals for the Group Housing team through research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure MGM Resorts' competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.
  • Manage the relationship with training team in successfully supporting our onboarding process, providing guidance and mentorship to the Specialist roles, and develop/train the Group Housing staff in additional tasks/responsibilities to support advancement opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team in optimizing our group marketing efforts including but not limited to target strategic campaigns and supporting the accuracy of marketing material located in our online group booking platform i.e. Passkey.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • 2+ Years of prior relevant experience in Hotel Operations management and/or Group Housing management
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  • Experience in hospitality industry and/or operation - Preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar resort setting - Preferred
