Residential Group Home Assistant Manager

When a group of families came together in 1957 to find services for their children with developmental disabilities, ACLD was born. Today, we are a leading not-for-profit agency employing 1000+ staff and providing over 70 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk. ACLD assists children, teens and adults in reaching the highest level of independence with the freedom to ASPIRE HIGHER in their hopes, dreams and accomplishments. We are currently seeking a few exceptional people who have a passion to create a meaningful impact in the lives of the amazing people we support.

ACLD (Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc.) is looking for a seasoned, dynamic Residential Assistant Manager to assist the Residential Manager in directing the day-to-day operation of one residential group home.

The ideal candidate can manage diverse duties and multiple priorities; and is able to maintain effective relationships with people supported, families, staff, and other internal/external departments. Candidate should have strong initiative, excellent problem solving skills and the ability to be creative, while managing multiple priorities in a busy residence.

This is a full-time position and requires flexibility in work schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a positive and productive work environment
  • Assist with hiring, training and coaching all direct care employees
  • Promote ACLD's values and strategic vision
  • Assist with the development and management of Individual Service Plans and Plans of Protection/Behavior Support Plans
  • Manage crisis situations and behavioral issues as the needs arise
  • Assist with managing budgets and ensuring sound fiscal management procedures are being followed
  • Ensure accurate documentation and service billing is complete and submitted in a timely fashion
  • Diligent in complying with OPWDD and ACLD policies, rules and regulations

We require:

  • High School Diploma
  • One year experience working in I/DD field
  • 6 months supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Clean and valid New York driver's license
  • The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person.
