Location:  Fern Ridge
Position: Year-round (12 Months, 8 Hours)                                         
Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Starting Pay: $17.04/Hour (and up, depending on experience) (with benefits)






Essential Job Functions:
Perform routine maintenance of exterior grounds features including installation of playground equipment and signs, maintenance of exterior wooden and metal structures, assist with concrete pours and repairs, and removal of snow throughout the District's 30 campuses. Responsible for maintaining safe and aesthetically pleasing campuses. Work must be completed according to specifications and in a timely manner to avoid possible injuries to students, staff or visitors using our campuses.
Qualifications:


  • 1-3 years experience in grounds maintenance preferred
  • Knowledge of playground equipment installation preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a diverse work force
  • Proficient in the use of all hand tools and power related equipment
  • Able to operate Skid steer, dump truck, back hoe, chain saw, brush chipper, concrete saw, sealer truck, jack hammer, roller, hot tar machine, fork lift, pressure washer, concrete mixer, mower, string trimmer and other relatable equipment
  • Able to drive , 1 and 2 ton trucks, maneuver trailers loaded with larger equipment, and operate lift beds
  • Possess and maintain minimum Missouri Class E driver's license or equivalent
  • Able to work in all weather conditions and on all types of terrain
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, read, learn and respond to a variety of subjects related to this position
  • Ability to physically move throughout the District buildings and campuses; must be able to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis, stand or walk for long periods of time, shovel snow and ice
