Job description

Detroit, Michigan (DANTEC) Gate Coordinator / Ramp Controller Part Time
Responsibilities:
Dynamic Science, Inc., is looking for an individual to serve as a Full-time Gate Coordinator / Ramp Controller at the Detroit Airport. This employee coordinates and/or controls aircraft (parking, pushbacks, taxiway, etc.) and vehicle movements in the ramp area at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), ensuring safe and efficient operations. Works in rotating shifts to maintain coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Monitors radios continuously for aircraft arrival information to ascertain the need for passenger transportation and scope of overall ramp area traffic, plan upcoming aircraft traffic flow and gate scheduling. Controls movements of aircraft in aircraft ramp area, ensuring proper sequencing and separation; assigns gates and parking to arriving aircraft in accordance with pre-arranged plans, making adjustments for unscheduled flights; and approves requests for push backs of aircraft into taxi lanes in ramp area ensuring an orderly flow of traffic and prevention of delays.
Maintains liaison with FAA and DTW Airport Operations personnel to coordinate unusual or emergency situations.
Maintains daily log on operation of the Airports Authority Ramp Tower facilities; uses radios and telephones to determine priority for aircraft gate snow removal operation, control snow removal operations in the ramp area and, coordinates with operators of airport emergency equipment responding to fuel spills, medical or other emergencies in the ramp area, as required.
Requirements
Experience:
This position requires air traffic control ground control experience or similar experience in the movement of air traffic
The ability to work under pressure in rearranging priorities of ground traffic movement amidst changing situations and maintain poise during emergencies is essential.
Experience as a terminal air traffic controller either in the FAA, private or military is preferred
Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen
Candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, and possess a valid DL with an acceptable driving record.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Education:
Minimum of a High School Diploma.
Additional experience and training in FAA, military, or commercial Air Traffic Control operations.
