Position Description

Position Overview
The Tool and Die Maker supports Applied Medical’s manufacturing and research operations by building, debugging, and maintaining progressive dies used in precision medical device manufacturing. This role contributes directly to tooling performance, production efficiency, and product quality by applying advanced tool and die making expertise in a regulated manufacturing environment. The tool and die maker collaborates closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure dies meet engineering specifications, quality system requirements, and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and debug progressive dies in accordance with engineering drawings, instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Troubleshoot die performance issues and apply corrective actions to ensure consistent and repeatable operation.
  • Perform carbide grinding and precision fitting to maintain tight tolerances and tooling quality.
  • Interface with engineering, department supervisors, quality control inspectors, and production teams to resolve technical issues and align priorities.
  • Follow quality system regulations, International Organization for Standardization standards, and standard operating procedures throughout all tooling activities.
  • Adhere to safety rules, manufacturing instructions, work rules, and other manufacturing guidelines.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining Applied Medical’s standards for quality, safety, and documentation.
