Job description

SUMMARY:

The Grind Operator is responsible for preparing and processing meat according to daily production schedules and specifications. This role includes verifying meat types, weights, and grind sizes, operating grinding equipment, entering production data into the appropriate system, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met throughout the process. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, follow strict GMP and safety protocols, and be willing to cross-train and support other positions or departments as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and verify the schedule/cards for the production day. This includes reviewing all pertinent information during shift change
  • Know and understand meat types and grind size
  • Verify meat weight, date, and type constantly to match the schedule needs
  • Follow grinding procedures as outlined in production formulation
  • Document all process and productivity information
  • Enter product information on the AX system and report any issues
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment as needed for wash down or bone collector inspections
  • Stop production line as needed to seek immediate attention to correct any problems
  • Keep area clean, sanitary and follow safety work practices such as and GMP’s
  • \Meet with supervisor at the end of the day
  • Be willing to be cross trained within department to cover other positions successfully when needed
  • Other duties as assigned, which includes in other departments depending on the season
