Job description

Position acts as a Mill Production I for the Wood Products department of Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private non-profit corporation that provides community inclusion and employment services for adults with disabilities. A production worker will stack and grade various products, while learning and maintaining a clean and safe team environment producing quality products. Learning machine operations and all safety aspects around those machines. Learning and using miscellaneous hand tools. Work safely in fast paced team environment..

QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous mill experience preferred or at least two years’ work experience in a production setting preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Must be dependable and maintain a good attendance record.
• Must be able to follow directions and work both independently and in groups.
• Proven, stable employment history.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Pass criminal history check, (May include fingerprinting.) and pass drug screen.
• Must have ability and desire to relate to people with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with email applications and timesheet applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Obtain job assignments from supervisor at the start of each shift.
• Keep work areas supplied with material as needed.
• Notify supervisor well in advance if you need more materials to keep working.
• Operate tools and machinery in a safe manner as prescribed by corporate procedures, utilizing a “safety first” approach at all times.
• Know and follow existing quality control of product or service being produced, including quality of packaging, accurate counting, and marking.
• Perform duties and complete tasks as requested by supervisor in a reasonable amount of time.
• Maintain agency records in a professional manner consistent with prescribed guidelines and expectations.
• Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, and committees.
• Do not exceed responsibility/authority delegated to you by supervisor.
• Exhibit good judgment in situations not specifically covered by agency policy and/or procedures.
• Participate in safety and safety programs.
• Keep work area in a clean, safe condition.
• Report any safety hazards, accidents, incidents of neglect, abuse, emergencies, or problems to supervisor and/or appropriate person per policy.
• Submit timesheets and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
​Typically, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday or as determined by supervisor due to contract requirements. Overtime and weekends may be required. May need to travel for occasional meetings. Exposure to dust, noise, and various weather conditions.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Standing for extended periods of time. Occasional walking. Frequent stooping, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching. Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be made for a person with a disability under ADA.
