Job description


Quad is currently searching for a RotoGravure Imaging Technical Lead for our Lomira, WI location. The purpose of this job is to support Gravure Imaging equipment uptime, best practices, and related consumable usage/supply chain management while maintaining customer quality and delivery expectations.
This includes gravure cylinder equipment used for;
  • Cylinder Base repair
  • Ballard shell removal
  • Electromechanical engraving
  • Copper and Chrome Electro-plating lines
  • All cylinder transport/storage equipment
  • Cylinder and parts cleaning equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor and/or Maintain Gravure Imaging cylinder manufacturing equipment
  • Copper & Chrome elelctro plate lines
  • Engraving equipment
  • Ballard shell removal equipment
  • Work in Progress (W.I.P.) & Long Term Storage (LTS) systems and overhead cranes
  • Provide copper and chrome electro plate line chemistry control and auditing
  • Apply Maintenance Control system to monitor equipment needs;
    • Preventative Maintenance
    • Reactionary Maintenance
    • Predictive Maintenance
  • Collaborate with plant Production Support (Electricians, Mechanics, Facility) personel for safe and proficient equipment needs
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors for safe and proficient equipment needs
  • Support monitoring and best practices as it relates to supply chain
  • Support Misc. production duties when demand volumes peak
  • Implement training material and best practices related to all production and equipment support needs

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis
Education: High School Diploma or higher education
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Prefer past experience in production/manufacturing environment, an apptitiude towards rotogravure print workflows and mechanical machine repair. Knowledge of the Cylinder Ballard shell process is helpful
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Manual Dexterity: Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordinated performance.
  • Physical Effort: Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and work requires regularly lifing and bending.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Person must also be able to frequently push / pull cylinder carts using >45 lbs of force. Candidates must be able to bend and lift constantly, performing repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere.
