Job description

Position Overview:
Dakota Woodlands isseekinga motivated and creativeMarketing & Communications Assistantto support the organization's outreach, storytelling, and engagement efforts. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, communications, and community impact.

The assistant will assistwith a variety of projects that elevate the organization's visibility, strengthen donor and community engagement, and communicate the impact of our work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with social media management, including creating and scheduling posts
  • Support development and distribution of email communications (e.g., newsletters, announcements, campaigns)
  • Help design marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, and digital graphics
  • Update and maintain content on the Dakota Woodlands website
  • Assist in creating presentations for community outreach, donors, and stakeholders
  • Support storytelling efforts by helping draft and share client success stories (while maintaining confidentiality and dignity)
  • Help prepare and distribute quarterly newsletters (digital and print)
  • Assist with assembling mailings and outreach materials
  • Provide general support for marketing campaigns, events, and communications projects
  • Perform other related tasks as needed to support the mission


Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
