Job Summary
Purdue University's award-winning, in-house agency, Purdue Brand Studio, is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer or Graphic Designer to help shape the visual voice of one of the world's top universities. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative creative team that values innovation, storytelling, and excellence in design.
In this role, you'll create marketing and brand experiences across print, digital, and experiential channels, developing thoughtful visual solutions that advance Purdue's brand and support a wide range of university initiatives, campaigns, and audiences. Depending on experience and qualifications, the selected candidate will contribute to and/or lead the development of creative concepts and visual solutions that support major university initiatives, campaigns, and evolving priorities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong design fundamentals, creative judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high standard of craft. Experience collaborating within an integrated creative team is essential, as you'll work closely with writers, strategists, photographers, developers, and project managers to bring ideas to life.
This role also supports photography and video initiatives, including participation in on-site shoots and productions as needed. Expertise in print production and social media formats is required, while experience with motion graphics, video, UX/UI design, or other emerging creative tools is highly desirable.
We're looking for a designer with a strong portfolio, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset who is excited to contribute meaningful work and make a lasting impact on Purdue's brand storytelling.
This position is a hybrid role that requires travel (up to 25%) to Purdue's West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations, as well as other external locations for photo/video shoots, team meetings, on-site collaboration, and project-related assignments.

Qualified candidates will need:
Graphic Designer (P2)
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication design, or closely related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in graphic design, multimedia, or a closely related field, with strong design fundamentals and execution skills.

Senior Graphic Designer (P3)
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication design, or closely related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in graphic design, multimedia, or a closely related field, with demonstrated experience developing and executing design concepts across channels.

Skills:
  • Superior design and typographic skills, with the ability to create work that resonates with diverse audiences
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat
  • Proficiency across social platforms, including Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn,TikTok, and Facebook
  • Strong knowledge of print production processes, specifications, and applications
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines and budgets
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy and how it connects to broader marketing goals

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Figma or UX/UI design is a plus
  • Experience with After Effects/Motion Graphics is a plus
  • Familiarity with Canva is a plus
